Jesus Christ... haven't we been over this multiple times on this forum.

1. Any sort of possession.
2. Any petty larceny, petty theft, and any number of misdemeanors.

I thought I was fairly eloquent in stating that once you are in the system, it is very, very difficult to get out. It is nearly impossible for you to land a job and if you do, you're making $7.50/hr busting your ass. If you're lucky enough to find something that makes your life worth while, a woman/man, a child, a hobby, a job, prison becomes a scary place again, but if you never find that... YOU DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO LOSE. Those with nothing to lose can't be scared by anything. Haven't you ever met anyone like that?
comon mass we know joec has never ever broken a law.......especially a gambling one

So I could break into your car and steal your stereo, radar detector, any money in your car, and no big deal right?

Where do you live? I would like to visit you......

Also, I guess I haven't had experience with jails and the law like you have....Sounds like personal experience to me.... Sorry for your situation.

We are soft with the death penalty.
I'd like to see some of these worthless scums convicted of murder be put to death instead of life behind bars.

That'll alliveiate some of the prsion space.

Agreed... We could reduce the population if people really wanted to... but with political correctness and groups like the ACLU threatening to sue everyone and their mother it will never happen... People will just continue to bitch about how the jails are overcrowded.... It would be nice for someone to come up with a good solution other than "Just let the little crimes go".... Ever heard the saying give an inch and they take a mile......

Why can't we take a useless state, like a blue one, (just kidding) and build a 50-100 foot wall completely around it. We can then take all persons convicted of serious crimes, (child rapists, murderers, etc) and let them live with each other. Let them fend for themselves. We can keep the current prisons open for those convicted of less serious crimes. Who really cares what those convicted of the serious crimes do to each other?

It's like when I see those shows about prisoners fighting and rioting with each other. Why put the guards at risk for those idiots. Let them kill each other. Or better yet, when they start rioting just shoot the offenders causing the problems.

I heard a long time ago that in some foriegn countries you steal they cut your hand off...You steal again they cut your other hand off....You do it again & they cut your head off.....Public hangings for Child Molesters would be a good thing......In I think it was Alabama the Judge ordered a Shoplifter from a WalMart to stand in front of the store with a Sign that said "Im a Theif"...I thought that was a good Idea too.

The problem with that is your violating the rights of the criminal. We wouldn't want them to suffer or hurt their feelings. God forbid you should feel any pain during lethal injection after you tortured, raped and killed your victim. The ACLU backs these turds so forget about any of that.

Work towards changing the bill of rights then. My own views on those who commit crimes against children, or rape/murder (and a few others) is quite harsh compared to others (use them for medical experiments or make them organ donars)

With that being said - I work towards changing the protections we offer those who violate certain trusts which all enjoy in a free society. I don't go after those who defend the bill of rights as it currently stands.

It's easier to complain about the ACLU than to work for change.

What is “cruel and unusual” has no fixed meaning, and so decisions interpreting the clause are sometimes controversial. The Supreme Court has generally held that a punishment that is wildly disproportionate to the crime committed is cruel and unusual. The Court has also upheld the death penalty against claims that putting someone to death, regardless of what that person did, is cruel and unusual.

My problem is that the ACLU does not defend the Bill of Rights. That's what it says it does. The ACLU defends the parts of the Bill of Rights that are in line with its agenda.

Easy to speak in vaguerities. Agendas and bias are great words - but mean nothing without proof.

What is their "agenda"? What are some cases they should have gone to bat for but refused?

I'm loaded up on this GS/UTAH game here so I may have to check later for your reply - good luck if you bet it.

Like protecting Limbaugh's medical privacy?

The ACLU has "gone to bat" for so many thousands of cases in their time that it's kind of silly to slot them for any particular "agenda".

Your post reminds me that it's time to fire them off a donation....heh

How about New York vs Ferber 458 U.S. 747

They lost a unanimous decision in the Supreme Court to legalize the sale and distribution of child pornography.
There position was to criminalize the production but legalize the sale and distribution.
They also object that porn producers have to maintain records showing the ages of their actors.

You can donate all you want to this disgusting organization. Your money.

Yeah, my money goes to the local chapters who stay pretty focused on medical rights, 1st, 4th and 5th Amendment rights.

All of these rights are essential in my line of work so it's great to know that I have access to such legal muscle in the event someone attempts to take them from me.
