With Florida and Auburn losing Tuesday, have all SEC teams been eliminated from all the mens Tourneys ?

KY will beat ND

I hope so, but I wouldn't bet on it. Like I said, you never know who is going to show up. Shut down Meeks and they are done. This team is facing a lot of adversity. They say around town that Gillispie is out & they will be going after Donovan or Calipari. The players are asked about it every day. They actually packed their stuff and traveled straight from Creighton to Notre Dame because they didn't want to have to deal with the local media before their next game.

Do you really think either of them come?

Donovan is well established. Cal is going to have a preseason top 5 team next year and if Evans returns, a preseason #1 team imo. UK is more prestigious, but at Memphis he will continue to rack up wins without the pressure at UK.

I think both would come ... but I think it will be Donovan (from my sources it is already done).
Calipari is at a school where no one respects him or his program. They win 30 games and he is a number 2 seed. 2 out of 3 of those recruits have yet to sign LOI, so they could go else where. Calipari would make more money and be a "legend" here. He is like Pitino in regards to wanting to take other teams to final four and make him look legend.

With that being said ... Donovan will be the new coach so it won't matter. Donovan thought after his national championships, Florida would be more interested in basketball, but the fact is, it's still a football school.
Donovan has UK ties. He was an assistant here and would be a great fit (even though I would rather have Calipari).
Donovan doesn't have much coming back (especially if Calathas leaves).
He will be entering a program with great prestige and a pretty solid group. Patterson will likely stay if Donovan is brought in. Donovan recruited Patterson and they have a great relationship. Meeks will be back. A top 10 recruiting class coming in (Orton, Hood, Pilgrim & Vilarano).

He has a great chance to be very successful and carry that momentum into the following season for recruiting.

Like I said, my "source" has told me that Gillispie is gone and Donovan is in. He has been right before and works for the university, so I trust his word ... but sometimes you just never know.

Gillispie will not be fired because his X's and O's ... it has to do with his attitude. He doesn't get along with anyone in the administration

Very good point about florida and being a football school. I guess sometimes I factor in where you live as opposoed to the program, as I would prefer to live in Florida over Kentucky, due to weather. I also forgot that Billy coached at UK with Rick P.

What do you think of his X's and O's. Obviously he did a great job with A&M, but i felt like they really underachived in the tournament once they had the talent. They should have been to a final four with Acie Law.

His X's and O's suck. He makes zero in game adjustments. He never plays zone (although he did play a triangle and 2 for 3 plays against Creighton). He never presses or traps. It is strictly man to man pressure defense. If you get beat, you play help side defense, leaving WIDE open threes.
His offense is a lame duck. Same thing over and over and over. Any person who watches UK can tell you they have 3 plays. If I had a drawing board, I could set them up for you. He is not creative. He even said before at the end of games, his play is to give it to his best player for isolation and let him win the game. Meeks has 1 play set for him (1 out of the 3). It is where they pick for him to the top of the key. Teams have caught on to this and that is why Jodie has struggled lately. Everyone knows what he is going to do.
Gillispie doesn't put his players in places to be successful. He is so stubborn it is crazy.

i dont think kentucky is a premier job anymore. has been watered down for years. they dont get big time recruits like they used to. still a big name, but program has gone down. reminds me a lot like nebraska football. decent name still, but prospects arnt going shit, kentucky coach just contacted me like before.

I think UK should take a look at Travis Ford. He's a native son who played for Pitino & has been successful everywhere he's coached. He might be a long term hire (20 plus years).

I agree with this statement in some degree. Tubby never recruited, so that is why we don't have the recruits ... however, that is changing some now. Top 10 class recruiting this year with Orton (top 10 if he didn't get hurt this year) and Hood (top 35). 2010 we have a top 5 player coming in Dominuque Ferguson.
It might not be a top job, but it is still premier.
We are going through what North Carolina went through a few years ago (when Doughtery left with good recruits coming in and Williams comes in and wins with them). Gillispie has good recruits coming in ... we just need the right coach.

If Patterson and Meeks come back, UK will be a top 15 team next year. Mark my word (if Donovan is coach).
C-Orton 5*
PF-Patterson 5*
SF-Miller/Hood 4*
SG-Meeks (not sure his star, but we know he is good)
PG-Liggins 4*
Depth chart includes players who are starting now: Harris, Stevenson, Porter, Pilgrim (watch out for this guy ... Patterson even said he is one of the best players he has played against down low).

The future is looking good, but with Gillispie coming back, it might not be as promising.

we as kentucky fans AND LET ME SAY I AM A DEVOTED FAN BUT I TEND TO BE MORE REALISTIC AND I SAID I THOUGHT GILISPIE DESERVED 3 YEARS WELL AFTER WATCHING 2 I SAY NO FOR 1 REASON ( AND LET ME JUST QUOTE WHAT ANYONE THAT CAN COACH WOULD SAY) HE IS A HORRIBLE X'S AND O'S COACH NO IN GAME OR HALFTIME ADJUSTMENTS.BUT LIKE MY FELLOW KENTUCKIAN SAID HE IS THE BIGGEST DICK HEAD I HAVE EVER SEEN. HE WAS A TOTAL JERK ON ESPN AND HE HAS NOT REPRESSENTED KY (OR WOULD ANY INSTITUTION) WITH HIS ATTITUDE AND ALCOHOL PROBLEMS.

Great conversation. Two things:

1. His defense is very questionable and he does not adapt well too changing his defense per the game situation (play a zone sometimes dumbass!)
2. Flat out I have met him twice. He is an arrogant dick.

Good riddance!
