Is The Opening Line For Game 7 Right?

Olympic and Canbet are opening with The Spurs being favored by 5 tomorrow night for Game 7 in the NBA FINALS...

I don't believe the CLOSING number will remain there given the history of how hard it is to WIN a GAME 7 on the ROAD...

While I believe they are close with 5, I predict Game 7 Closes at 5 1/2 almost everywhere...

What do others think?

Were you expecting it to open at 6 or something? I hadnt give it much thought until I saw this, but I guess this is how you stay ahead of the game thinking about these things at 8 in the morning.

Two things stand out to me: Detroit Has outscored the spurs 11 qaurters to 4 (they tied one) over the last 4 games

And. .

In the last 21 years we've only had 3 game 7 finals

I never stated that I expected this line to open at 6. What I did say is that I expect it to close at 5 1/2. Also, I am not suggesting I like the Spurs or Pistons at this level, but just predicting the closing line based on my capping abilities...

As always, time will tell if I am right...

I believe -5 to be a very very solid number and that is the number I would personally have opened up with too, as most would obviously.

Many positives working in both teams favor in this game seven that handicappers from both sides will point to.

Which way will the line move from here?

I honestly do not have a real good feel, therefore that leads me to believe even more so on how strong this number is.

Put it this way, I do not see this game going as low as -4 or as high as -6.

With a gun to my head I would say a slight lean towards the -5.5 as The SHRINK as indicated.

Pistons are defending champs. These are not high scoring games so why give them many.

Pinny now at Spurs 5.5 even. Not much difference than if they hung Spurs -5 -110 since anyone that wants the spurs -5 can have it with a hook buy at Pinnacle -110 or -111.

The mind game with 5.5 is to entice Detroit action. Halves are enticement and give gamblers the squirm if the game is close to the number near the end of the game.

In basketball, more players will buy halves with this line of 5.5, rather than if line was 5.

Myself personally, with such a low total and Detroit being defending champs, I would make the line Spurs 5 -105 for there will be plenty of doggie action in game 7.

I would make this line 4.5 -115 before 6.

Half the people here are going to lean towards -5.5 and the other half towards -4.5

5 is right. I just do not see it climbing as Spurs look in disarray, no matter how strong the trends in game 7 are. If anything it may creep down, cheap 5's on the Spurs. Timmy is a mental meltdown, and now Manu is trying to win the game by himself, and the ball movement is weak. Timmy got a very low number of shot attempts, and you have to work the offense through him. They have forgotten the two man game, high screen and rolls, after Motown aggressively challenged the roll man. I think the Spurs have just enough left to eek out a game 7 victory, but would not be surprised if they choke again. A true rarity in NBA Finals, a game #7.

I think that the number is right on. Also do not think that it gets much higher. Actually think you may see 4.5's come gametime. I really like the under in this one. Under 176 with juice at Pinny. That is my play for this one.

Duncan's poor foul shooting(front rimming)is indicative of his inability to get any lift out his ankles.I think that he is more hurt than he is leading on.
