ODU only has ONE SENIOR on the entire team, who doesn't play a major role for them. They have the CONFERENCE'S PLAYER OF THE YEAR, a Junior from Australia, 6 foot 9 named ALEX LOUGHTON.
Their Coach believes he will be an NBA prospect after another year at the Collegiate level...
They have a very good guard named Isaiah Hunter who has no shot at the Pro level...
They also have another PHENOM, just a Freshmen, Sam Harris, that is 7 foot 3 and also from Australia who needs to mature and he is starting to do so..
ODU is just a very DEEP and ATHLETIC team, that plays great defense and is very well coached...
They may surprise some people this year if they make the NCAA tournament, and I wouldn't be shocked if they were ranked before next season starts...

Although a higher rating, like an 8 seed may be good for ODU in some ways, it would mean they'd have to play the number 1 seed in the second round, should they advance...
YIKES...
For my betting purposes on whether they make the SWEET 16, I would prefer an 11 or that magical 12 seed, but I don't see that happening should they win their conference tourney and end up 28-5...

They should get in, I think the committee will give them some leeway if they lose the final to a good home team that will win 20 games if they get by ODU.
I read a scouting report that says Loughton needs a lot of work, not NBA quality. Who knows though, he could get better, but he was in the 150s for the 2006 draft. Not good considering a little over 60 players get picked.
