Moats Questionable for SMU

RUSTON - The big question around the Louisiana Tech field house on Sunday afternoon was the status of running back Ryan Moats following an ankle injury suffered in a loss to sixth-ranked Auburn this weekend.
Moats, who rushed only three times for zero yards against the Tigers before leaving midway through the first quarter with the injury, had his ankle taped and re-taped during the game but could not overcome the pain he was experiencing.
Less than 24 hours later, Moats said he already felt better. However, Tech head coach Jack Bicknell said that his reports from the Bulldog training staff were that Moats was questionable for this weekend's contest in Dallas against SMU.
"It's important that we prove we can win without (Ryan)," Bicknell said. "We are not a one man team. I thought Freddie Franklin did some good things (against Auburn). Obviously, Ryan is one of the top running backs in the country and a huge part of our success. Hopefully, he will be ready to play Saturday."
Moats, who walked around the Dr. Billy Bundrick Sports Medicine Complex Sunday afternoon with his ankle wrapped and a smile on his face, said he would do everything possible to get himself ready for this weekend's contest.
Not only is this weekend's contest important to the Bulldogs and Moats because of its baring on the Western Athletic Conference standings - Tech is currently tied with Boise State atop the league with a 2-0 mark - but it's also a homecoming for the Dallas, Texas, native.
Despite his zero-yard rushing day, Moats ranks No. 3 in the nation in rushing yards per game in this week's updated NCAA stats, averaging 154.7 yards per game.
i have watched everyone of their games this year, and no moats, no chance :drink:
