I mean, he seems like a great kid. Doesn't miss free throws, is a great 3 point shooter, etc. He'd be unreal if he got the kind of looks that some other players get. He's obviously gotten the most of his talent, and will make the NBA for sure. But I see an incomplete player who doesn't have any quickness, can't handle the ball real well, and doesn't defend like a stopper. Why did he get the AP Player of the Year Award? I know it means little, but I just can't see it.

What a joke. The best two players in college hoops this season were Andrew Bogut and Ike Diogu with Diogu being the best.

I didn't see enough of Diogu, but Bogut is awesome. Maybe one of them will win the Wooden award.

My guy was Bogut, by a decent margin. J.J. may struggle in the pros, and may not stick. Stoudamire for Zona has his range, with alot more to offer.

This just seems to me a lot like Andy Katz picking Wake Forest to win it all. An attempt to be cute, and nothing else, with no substance. But I guess a lot of voting writers tried to be cute with this one, cause everyone I know is saying WTF?

Like many other things, it seems to be political. He played at Duke. He did not leave early. He is a pastey white American kid. The best Duke players all leave early now. So he is an example for the rest. Let's see where he gets drafted. No trophies there...

Remember, Redick is only a junior. I don't think there's any way he leaves early as he'd be very very lucky to be a 1st round pick.

I was under the impression he announced he was staying. I thought that was a factor. If I am wrong, then that is one less political reason. I agree, if he does leave early, he is second round material. His game does not transfer well to the next level. Or he could be the next Larry Bird. Like Laettner was supposed to be. We all see how that turned out.

Great college player, wont be a great pro. Similar to Wally Szerbiak although a little shorter and Trajan Langdon also a good comparison as Noreaga mentioned.

Don't know who won it, now. 670 AM The Score in Chicago said Reddick won it on one update, and Bogut won it on another update.

I'd take Szerbiak over Reddick anyday. The dude won the award cause he plays for Duke. Being white helps too as he obviously stands out. Would you have any idea who he was if he played for a school like say Virginia Tech and was black? Sheldon Williams by far Duke's MVP this season. Reddick isn't even the player of the year on his own team.
