no doubt, i think i read somewhere that Al Davis felt like Russell was the next John Elway when he as coming out. He's clearly not a hard worker.

They gave the fucker so much money, they aren't just gonna to toss him aside. By hell or high water, they are going to keep playing him in the hopes of getting something out of their investment.

Just like in baseball when they give these 1st rounders those big signing bonuses. My buddy who played in the minors for years said he would play with so many bonus babies who sucked, but they got every opportunity to succeed by the organization over lower drafted and/or FA's because they had a major investment money-wise in them.
