Just heard this reported. Apparently Alaska is the only state in the U.S. to require the victims of rape to pay for their own medical testing...

Not trying to get too political with this but is there any way this is true?

jake, palin is one of those evangelical terrorists running around. they took over a lot of wasilla, including the school district, local businesses.

she believes you have to have the baby under any circumstances, that dinosaurs were here 4,000 years ago. she uses religion for her science. she is the last person i need if i end up staying here since i consider evangelicals along the same lines as terrorists. amazing how they take over these towns 1 by 1.

i talk to these people like palin everyday. they are beyond saving.

Well the guy running for president could keel over at any second due to his age so I think the VP is very important in this election. I don't see any way I would want this woman running the country from everything I've researched.

Sarah Palin and the Rape Kit Question

September 10, 2008 02:22 PM ET | Michelle Andrews | Permanent Link

The blogosphere is reporting that when she was mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, in the late 1990s, Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin's municipal police department charged rape victims for the "rape kit" used to collect the forensic evidence necessary to convict their attackers. According to reports, this changed in 2000 when then Alaska Gov. Tony Knowles signed a bill protecting rape victims from being charged. As I wrote recently, however, the situation described in Wasilla is not unique. In all too many instances, women are still being stuck with the bill for rape kits. This despite the fact that in order to qualify for federal grants under the Violence Against Women Act, states are supposed to pick up the entire tab.
If on her watch Sarah Palin allowed women to be charged for rape kits, she has some serious explaining to do. But while she's undoubtedly the most visible offender, if the story is true, she's unfortunately not the only one to have permitted this reprehensible practice.

Yeah man, the evangelicals took over the schools and businesses, they're
planning on hooking up with the group in Minnesota that took over
Minneapolis and is marching down I35 taking over the country town by town. Pretty soon these terrorists will have the whole country
under their mind-control. Watch out, they are armed and dangerous.
If this cult gets control of you, you can't think, you can't do anything
but just turn into part of the evangelical terrorism movement, marching
across America taking control.

i think she was a horrible pick... but considering the alternative the republican ticket is the only one worth getting behind.

are you really going to place your vote based off of your thoughts that mccain could die in office? i am worried about a couple of other issues like the war and the economy.

He's over 70 and had multiple bouts with cancer. Dying in office is a fair concern.

If you using those two issues as a basis for your vote, how can you still be for McCain? He is wrong on both.
