had the same response in the horse racing forum from a poster who quest. a winning bet at even money today ...........i seek value where i can find it and sometimes ya just gotta choke on a little chalk.........granted , ya gotta pick ur spots carefully , but rather than pass a winner, i 'll just up the play
I don't care if it's chalk or dog...I just look for the advantages and play the team(s) I think have the best chance of covering ATS. Some people don't care about the teams and just look for the best number and play that. I think if there really was an answer to dog vs fav it would've already been exploited and we'd all be using it to our advantage.
Of course the record speaks the loudest and mine is negative so maybe I need to rethink my way of doing things.

honestly captain? i know it sounds wierd because you all have been doing well, but i think plays on favorites are generally for squares. however, it appears to be working for you guys so i don't know about my theory anymore. for instance...duke -4 against wake forest...the square play is duke -4 on the road against wake forest. i also thought mich. state -5 the other day was a square play...duke lost, mich. st. won. i laid off both games, but to me, the favs are the square plays generally speaking.

look at my last 10, 20, 30 days of posts and count favs to dogs... that'll give you a good idea what I'm talking about....
my last 32 for example you have 2 picks / 12 DOGS / 18 FAVS .. and they came out to be alot of WINNERS...

Everyone gets to know over time who the REAL players on here are.
Many of the people posting are young school kids posting fantasy plays. They never backed up a play with significant money in their life.
These guys who post 18 plays a day and most all favorites are jokes but that may stick in your mind.
That may be one reason the chalk seems so common on the board.
