I am not a Jr fan, but I was a big Sr fan and everytime that kid does well, I think of Dad. I guess that's the sensation part. I think NASCAR wants nothing more than a Jr title.

It brings ratings. Kids born today will hear dads talking about the legend Sr. The name is famous to the sport. It's hard not to be happy for Dad, and we know he would be happy with Son.

I liked the old one better - he was a badass. Little 'E' is more of a pretty boy than anything.

Watching him on The Late Show with David Letterman, he's hardly imbued with the brightest of personalities.

He's durable, good at his job and 'media friendly' (i.e. doesn't get bad publicity).

....I'm agreeing in part with RPM's initial sentence.

I dont like Earnhardt Jr's attitude. He usuall puts on a good show in front of the cameras, but I've heard him too many times on the mic show what kind of a jerk he is. What really made it clear to me how much of an azz he is...is the race where he and Gordon was battling for a win last few laps, and Gordon's teammate Jimmie Johnson was trying to help hold Jr. off. Earnhardt proceeds to pull the victory out, but instead of going to the finish line and burning out for the fans and doing a victory lap, he searches out and goes directly to a Pepsi logo on the field, which is Gordon's Sponsor or course, and spins around and does donuts all over it......

I know 1st hand that Tony Stewart is a jerk & he and jr have become real good friends. Made for each other?

Either way, they may need to work on attitude, but they are gifted in what they do.

He's just part of the "formula" for marketing a "new nascar". He has the look of a rugged justin timberlake but about the same substance and character.

On the other hand i don't blame him for getting pissed at the whole team game in nascar even if he's part of it. It sort of ruins the sport(if that's possible)

i kind of agree with areef. the exposure that jr. gets from nascar has definetly helped his popularity.

LOL, no wonder you wanted to meet me. No I am for sure not Chris but I have met him a dozen times at least. One of my buddies is a close friend and they always sat together at Tampa Downs so I would swing by for a race or two sometimes. I always liked the guy a helluva lot, good people IMO.

To be honest the last time I saw him it reminded me of near the end when my Pop died. It really did and I even said to my wife he looked bad IMO. His face was just drawn, his clothes were hanging off him and he just looked real sick though his attitude was fine. Duemig had told my wife Chris was sicker than people realized so I was not totally caught off guard here....
