We know the Celtics are a pretty good team and we know they have a shitload of talent.

My question is how good is Doc Rivers?

If Lakers and Celts swapped coaches.....how much better would the celts be and how much better would the lakers be?

Personally I'm not a fan of Doc Rivers, I think the Celts could really kick it up with a higher calibur coach.....which is funny cause I liked Doc as a player....go figure.

dont see any coach doing better then 27-2, even if they switched heh.

any coach that wins a major championship is a good coach. he's not all world, phil jackson god like, but yes to answer your question he's a good coach.

yeah....it is hard to argue a 27-2 record will have room for improvement.

I guess the only way to see is to have Doc coach a mediocre team and see how it does.

Just feels like he hit the NBA coaching lotterly (Newlywed style) and he couldn't mess this up no matter how hard he tried.

Doc just needs to trust what works for him.. I can tell you that after they brought in Sam Cassell last year he almost destroyed the Celtics' hopes of a championship with how he mishandled the PG position in the series with ATL. He is an above average coach, especially on the defensive side of the ball, but not the best.

I hate the way he leaves his starters in so long when the game has been decided. But other than that yea he is an intelligent well spoken man who runs the team well.

he was above average in orlando, getting them to the playoffs 3 of 4 seasons. not so hot in boston until like you said he hit the jackpot.

when i think of a great coach, i think of a tubby smith at minnesota who won wherever he's coached with nobodies(tulsa, georgia) now look at the gophers. i think your part right, but like i said at the same time anybody who wins a championship is at least a good coach.

a great coach, a tubby smith type who just out thinks you, no he's not that.

Celtics are good on defense because of Thibodeaux more so than Rivers.

He took them all out today against the laker 1st team and turned his 1 pt lead to a 10 pt deficit!

ugly game today... celtics looked really bad. only silver living being that I doubt they play that badly when it really matters.

Glen Davis (and Brian Scalbrine) have no place on the floor... and when Davis & Powe are in they get destroyed 'cause neither guy wants to cover bigs who can shoot.
