If so, how can you get stuck in a cult like this??

Tom Cruise has turned into an absolute wack job thansk to Scientology.

Anyway, I have heard the L Ron Hubbard made a bet with a friend who could come up with the bigger scam, and obviously, starting a "religion", he won.

If it allows me to bang women like Katie Holmes that are like 10 years younger and 6 inches taller, I might have to check it out. But I am 6'2" so the 6 inches taller might be a little scary. :icon_conf

I read a book about it once after discovering that my boss was a Scientologist. It didn't make too much sense to me. Hubbard was completely depraved. Here's a good link that says alot about what kind of a man he was:

I heard that they try to recruit celebrities because they love to get lots of money and publicity.

I read about this the other day. The basic principle of this makes sense, but really its just common sense put into some eloquent BS. Talks about self and achieving goals (what a revalation) Having said that, I dont think I'm going to read "Dianetics" freak'n exploding valcanoe book anytime soon.

Funny thing is that the broad is going to convert to Scientology so that she can marry Tom Cruise. Stupid bitch. She's only known him like 6 weeks.

In another thread, someone suggested that this whole thing is one big publicity stunt since they both apparently have movies coming out in the near future. Wouldn't surprise me.......

Scientology

Boy, if i had ever thought about it after watching Tom Cruise , the last two weeks on talk shows, i would completely change my mind. He seems to be on something. He was bouncing off walls, junping up and down , getting on the floor. I used to really like him and his movies, but now i really wonder what he is on. Its one thing to profess your love for someone and another for doing what he is doing. I think it is called going over the edge.

Notice how poor people don't believe in this shit. Its always the wealthy crazies who want some sort of higher approval for their status.

I heard you can actually buy status to a certain extent in Scientology and in some buildings only those with a given "level" or "rank" can go to the top floors. In Hollywood, the young recruits wear these uniforms and all have a weird blank look on their faces...they try and lure folks into their wacked out world through offering free personality tests and whatnot on the street.

Blurb from website on Scientology...
"Further, as one progresses through a series of auditing “levels,” one can eventually be restored to native state and can attain the status of “operating thetan,” wherein one is free of attachments to the body and, even while “exterior” to (outside) the body, one can consciously control matter, energy, space, time, thought, and life. Hubbard's writings and lectures include many tantalizing details of the god-like abilities that may be gained through auditing.

For most individual Scientologists, recovering these god-like abilities (and encouraging and assisting others to do so as well) is the primary goal of participation in Scientology. The “levels” through which a participant progresses make up what is called “The Bridge to Total Freedom.” Progress through all the levels of the “Bridge” often takes many years of dedicated study and practice, and the cost in fees for services for the Bridge is currently estimated at approximately $300,000 - $500,000 in US dollars."

The one good thing that I will say about Scientology is they run a very successfull rehab program. I know someone who kicked Heroin through their program....and he did it without the succumbing to their brainwashing.

Too weird for me, unless you have some type of crazy substance problem, stay away!

Poor people usually do believe in religions like Muslim and Christianity. Scientology is just too new for them. Take a while to seep in.

I don't know much about scientology but I do know this. The poor people comment is on the right track. See L. Ron Hubbard makes people pay for his readings and material and stuff so the more advance you get into Scientology the more you have to paid to get more of his teachings. There was a lawsuit a couple of years ago by someone who posted the highest levels of scientology knowledge (whatever that may be) for free on the web. The scientology people went ape s**t over this fact and tried to block this. I believe the guy ended up winning against scientology but not 100% sure.
