i got the following from a very good capper from another site....& thought that some might find it interesting....

A quick look at how the BCS National Champion finished in total defense this decade:

2007: LSU (3rd)
2006: Florida (6th)
2005: Texas (10th)
2004: USC (6th)
2003: LSU (1st)
2002: Ohio State (23rd)
2001: Miami (6th)
2000: Oklahoma (8th)

Only once this decade has a national champion finished lower than 10th in the nation in total defense, and that team (Ohio State, 2002) was No. 2 in scoring defense.

Florida: Total defense (9th) Scoring Defense (5th)

Oklahoma: Total Defense: (63rd) Scoring Defense (57th)

More info I found.

Fact #1- It's obivious the Sooners should not be in this game peroid....They lost on a netural field to texas and yes they beat tech but that was at home while texas lost to tech on the final play of the game on the road in lubbock....

Fact #2- Again pretty obivious everyone knows that Bob Stoops shits the bed in bowl expecially recently were the sooners are just 1-4 ATS in there last 5 bowl games.....

Fact #3- We have seen and learned from this years bowl games that the big 12 is not as good as we expected as the big 12 is 3-2 SU but just 1-4 ATS in this years bowl games. As we all saw Texas struggle against the Buckeyes and Tech was thrashed by Ole Miss. And mMssouri and Okie st. both looked mediocre at best..........

Fact #4- After watching the big 12 this year and expecially after the bowl games you truly have to wonder what kind of numbers would tebow and stafford have put up in the big 12 my guess is Tebow would have won his 2nd heismann if he would have went against the teams in the big 12...........

Fact #5- Really just trends and stats here like i have already mentioned the sooners are 1-4 ATS in there last 5 bowl games but are also 0-5 ATS in there last 5 games verus the SEC..And flordia is 15-3 ATS in there last 18 games against teams with winning records........Stats the sooners are ranked #63 total yards given up on defense and #57 in scoring defense......While the gators are #3 in scoring offense and #9 total yards given up on defense.

Now it sounds like you are trying to convince yourself that Fla is the right side.

Not at all. Just posting this to help anyone that may not have made up their mind yet. Florida wins this in a blowout. Bradford throws 3 picks tonight. :toast:

Well then they need to play better than the rest of the big 12 south has. Turns out to be the most overhyped conference I have seen in awhile.

tocco, really, go look up the definition of the word "fact." It doesn't mean what you seem to think it means.

"(OU) lost on a netural field to texas" -- see, that's a fact.

"It's obivious the Sooners should not be in this game" -- that's an opinion. Your opinion.

And it really does sound like you're trying hard to convince yourself you bet on the right side. There's no need for that now. Just wait a few hours and you'll find out whether you did or didn't.

Florida got beat(at home) by a team with 4 losses, including losses to vandy and s carolina. Oklahoma loses to a 1 loss team on a not so neutral field. Usc lost to a 4 loss team on the road. Should be Oklahoma and USC

If USC, then why not Utah? No losses at all. The BCS is not and will never be perfect.

Oklahoma loses to a 1 loss team on a not so neutral field.

Are you familiar at all with the annual Texas/OU game in Dallas? That situation is probably the most neutral setting in all of college football.

* Dallas equidistant from Austin and Norman
* Seating is split 50/50
* The Metroplex area is perhaps the top recruiting area for both schools

I've had to wait a month now for Oklahoma to shut-up all these people that don't even think they should be in this game. Get over it Texas went Plaxico and shot themselves with a lose to Tech. Unless you want to make a case for Ole' Miss or Utah...deal with it.The day has come and to all those people, I hope you come on here tomorrow morning and congratulate the best team in the country - Oklahoma!

This game reminds me of the 2001 championship game against Fla. St when OU was a 10 pt dog. They had no chance with the great seminoles. Your points about the Big 12. First the conference record is 4-2 not 3-2. Second Alabama made the SEC look unbeatable, right?
