Ann Coulter's new book, "Godless: The Church of Liberalism," promises to be another doozy (and another huge bestseller) bringing with it many hard hitting truisms, while simultaneously eliciting gloomy faces inside the blue states.

Sometimes you need a "shock jock" delivery to wake people up from their slumber. Love her or hate her, it's tough to deny, this woman has a definite way with words.

Some have called liberalism a mental disorder. I've often referred to it as a mentality guided by the ego, myself. Ann has taken liberalism one step further, calling it a "religion." Hmmmm...certainly embodies all the trademark qualifiers, doesn't it?

Discuss amongst yourselves.

GO GET'EM, ANN!!!

Godless: The Church of Liberalism

In past #1 bestsellers, Ann Coulter has revealed how liberals lie about their conservative opponents (Slander). She's shown how the Left routinely stands with America's enemies against America herself (Treason). She's even defended liberalism's ultimate boogeyman: Joe McCarthy.

But now, Coulter ups the ante once again. In Godless: The Church of Liberalism, she shows how liberal hostility to traditional religion stems from the fact that liberalism is itself a religion -- a godless one. And, she reveals, thanks to the liberals who dominate our courts, our government bureaucracies, our schools, and our media, liberalism is now the established religion of our country.

<center>Inside the Church of Liberalism

</center>

Though liberalism rejects the idea of God and reviles people of faith, argues Coulter, it bears all the attributes of a religion itself. In Godless, she throws open the doors of the Church of Liberalism, showing us:
 • its sacraments (abortion)
 • its holy writ (Roe v. Wade)
 • its martyrs (from Soviet spy Alger Hiss to cop-killer Mumia Abu Jamal)
 • its clergy (public school teachers)
 • its churches (government schools, where prayer is prohibited but condoms are free)
 • its doctrine of infallibility (as manifest in the "absolute moral authority" of spokesmen from Cindy Sheehan to Max Cleland)
 • and its cosmology (in which mankind is an inconsequential accident)
Then, of course, there's the liberal creation myth: Charles Darwin's theory of evolution.

For liberals, evolution is the touchstone that separates the enlightened from the benighted. But Coulter neatly reverses the pretense that liberals are rationalists guided by the ideals of free inquiry and the scientific method. She exposes the essential truth about Darwinian evolution that liberals refuse to confront: it is bogus science.

Writing with a keen appreciation for genuine science, Coulter reveals that the so-called "gaps" in the theory of evolution are all there is -- Darwinism is nothing but a gap. After 150 years of dedicated searching into the fossil record, evolution's proponents have failed utterly to substantiate its claims. And a long line of supposed evidence, from the infamous Piltdown Man to the "evolving" peppered moths of England, has been exposed as hoaxes. Still, liberals treat those who question evolution as religious heretics and prohibit students from hearing about real science when it contradicts Darwinism. And these are the people who say they want to keep faith out of the classroom?

Liberals' absolute devotion to Darwinism, Coulter shows, has nothing to do with evolution's scientific validity and everything to do with its refusal to admit the possibility of God as a guiding force. They will brook no challenges to the official religion.

Fearlessly confronting the high priests of the Church of Liberalism and ringing with Coulter's razor-sharp wit, Godless is the most important and riveting book yet from one of today's most lively and impassioned conservative voices.

Ya mean the same Anne Coulter that defended Paula Jones against Bill Clinton had that case thrown out by the Judge???

The same person who claimed Canada fought in the Vietnam War??

The same person who called ALL NEW YORKERS "Cowards"? and also said the following: "My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times Building."

Her father represented Phelps Dodge Corporation, the mining and manufacturing giant, and while negotiating with the unions, he presided over the largest union decertification ever ...

CLASS ACT ... TRULY CLASS ACT and leave it to this clown to support a woman who ATTACKS AMERICAN VETS:

Vile Ann Coulter smears a war hero
Once you've accused half the country of treason, even Max Cleland is fair game

</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=520 border=0><TBODY><TR><TD width=345>Finding the bottom of American politics these days is as easy as looking up the latest column by Ann Coulter. In fact, it’s the same thing. Her act may be wearing thin now that she has accused half of the population of treason, but don’t underestimate the kooky commentator. Just the other day, she again managed to shock the conscience of any decent citizen who happened to read her latest screed.
Her current target is Max Cleland, the former United States Senator who left three limbs in Vietnam. The courageous Mr. Cleland prevailed over his terrible injury, and the depression that followed; he was appointed Secretary of Veterans Affairs in the Clinton administration and then elected to the Senate from his home state of Georgia.
But Ms. Coulter considers him deserving of scorn and denigration -- and lies about his service, despite his sacrifice -- for one reason alone: Mr. Cleland is a Democrat who dares to speak out against the President.
There was a time when Republicans were the first to defend veterans and the last to attack anyone who had served, regardless of partisan affiliation. That tradition is dead, however, in part because so many of the party’s extremist leaders, who talk loudly about war, managed to avoid military service when their time came. George W. Bush, of course, served far from Vietnam in the Texas Air National Guard’s "champagne unit" at Ellington Air Force Base, apparently thanks to the intervention of his father’s powerful friends.
Now the Democrats seem likely to nominate John F. Kerry, the Massachusetts Senator who fought in Vietnam and came home bearing wounds and decorations. Conservatives already have begun to denigrate Mr. Kerry because he joined the antiwar movement when he returned. (The current Republican leadership had their own quiet little antiwar movement: They simply declined to fight, although they thought the war was being fought to save us from godless Chinese communism.)
Inevitably, Mr. Kerry’s war record will be compared with that of the man who calls himself the "war President." By publicly demanding answers about Mr. Bush’s spotty Guard record, Mr. Cleland attracted the malignant attention of Ms. Coulter.
"Max Cleland should stop allowing Democrats to portray him as a war hero who lost his limbs taking enemy fire on the battlefields of Vietnam," she writes, claiming that he "lost three limbs in an accident during a routine non-combat mission where he was about to drink beer with friends. He saw a grenade on the ground and picked it up. He could have done that at Fort Dix. In fact, Cleland could have dropped a grenade on his foot as a National Guardsman. ... Luckily for Cleland’s political career and current pomposity about Bush, he happened to do it while in Vietnam."
Denigrating Mr. Cleland became fashionable in Republican circles in the fall of 2002, when his opponents ran television commercials that flashed his face on the screen with Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein. That ad offended The Gainesville Times, a daily newspaper in northeast Georgia, which called it misleading, offensive and "an irresponsible and repugnant attack on Cleland’s character and sense of patriotism."
But that repugnant ad helped Saxby Chambliss -- a pompous hack who had obtained several draft deferments -- win the Senate race against Mr. Cleland. According to the Coulter definition, that made the ad "patriotic."
What, then, is the truth about Mr. Cleland? On June 9, 1968, the U.S. Army awarded Capt. Max Cleland a Silver Star "for gallantry in action" at the battle of Khe Sanh, one of the war’s fiercest firefights.
According to the citation, he "distinguished himself by exceptionally valorous action. ... When the battalion command post came under a heavy enemy rocket and mortar attack, Capt. Cleland, disregarding his own safety, exposed himself to the rocket barrage as he left his covered position to administer first aid to his wounded comrades. He then assisted in moving the injured personnel to covered positions. Continuing to expose himself, Capt. Cleland organized his men into a work party to repair the battalion communications equipment which had been damaged by enemy fire. His gallant action is in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service, and reflects great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army." The 25-year-old captain had volunteered to help relieve the Marines and the Army’s First Cavalry Division trapped at Khe Sanh. The cited action took place four days before the explosion that ripped off both his legs and an arm. The accident occurred while he was disembarking from a transport helicopter, when he reached for a grenade that he thought had dropped from his gear. It had actually been dropped by a new infantryman who had "improperly prepared the grenade pin for easy detonation." Yes, Mr. Cleland is a true hero. And those who would mock him don’t know what patriotism means.

Liberals need to lighten up, Doc. Ann has sense of humor, that's all -- something of course you dreary liberals don't have. So we not only know why Ann makes liberal's skin crawl, we can also see why she keeps upping the ante:

The more liberals become unhinged, the better it is for GOP business. I'm amazed you haven't figured this out -- then again, not really.

That's true, I think both sides need to lighten up, everyone knows Anne Coulter is a comedien out to sell books no different than Franken or Bill Cosby.
The troubling thing I find is the tounge in Cheek comments and jokes these writers tell are being repeated in an unfunny way, people are repeating the jokes but forgetting to laugh.

Lenny Bruce has a bit where he talks about being busted by in NY City for obscenity. During the trial the key witness was a vice cop who had to repeat the material Lenny Bruce had said. Lenny said it was painful,
"Here I am watching some guy with no idea about comedy, he has no idea how to deliver a joke, no sense of Timing, I watch him as he is doing a bad Lenny Bruce Impersonation"
"Of course it sounds obscene when it's delivered like that"

Liberals are very funny, it's just the jokes are reversed so you NeoCons don't laugh.

An image I always thought would be funny would be seeing Jesus as a Carpenter, they don't have many paintings of that,
Imagine seeing him all slouched over hammering away, his tool belt pulling his pants down so you can see the crack of his ass hanging out.

Anne is an icon - she has a way analyzing the facts and presenting them in an articulate manner.

In "treason", she does a wonderful job of proving how the left protected Alger Hiss after he gave the Soviets the secrest of the A Bomb, while they denegrated Joe McCarthy as a fascist zealot - after the Soviet block fell, we found out that Joe McCarthy was correct in his assertions while Alger Hiss was a traitor and did give the Soviets the secrets to the A Bomb.

That's the reason the left hates and fears Anne - she tells the truth.

Kingbill, the other reason Ann infuriates liberals is because she's not always being a comedian. Sometimes she's very serious and her work is well documented. As opposed to someone like Howard Stern -- you know what you're getting -- with Ann, people often aren't sure what do make of her. Is she a satirist? Is she a political pundit? Is she taking herself seriously? Is she wanting others to take her seriously?

No, actually, she calls herself an American patriot – period.

So yeah, she keeps everyone on her toes -- including notorious for throwing liberals into an absolute frenzy. How can anyone not love Ann Coulter?

Bblight is correct, "Treason" is an excellent read. Not a lot of satire. And very well researched.

Coulter was fired from MSNBC when she told a disabled Vietnam veteran, "people like you caused us to lose that war."

How bout thses quotes from Coulter:

"Even if corners were cut, [Iran-Contra] was a brilliant scheme"

"I think we ought to nuke North Korea right now just to give the rest of the world a warning. ... They’re a major threat. I just think it would be fun to nuke them and have it be a warning to the rest of the world."

And why does Coulter hate the Left????

According to her story, in 1991 she was escorted to the hotel room of Clinton, then governor of Arkansas, where he crudely propositioned her. She kept quiet about the incident until 1994, when a David Brock story in American Spectator told a story about an Arkansas employee named "Paula" offering to be Clinton's girlfriend. Jones filed a sexual harassment suit against Clinton in May, 1994 . Ann Coulter served as one of her attorneys in the beginning of this matter ... when the case did go to court, it was summarily dismissed as groundless, in that the judge ruled that Jones could not show that she had suffered any damages whatsoever, even should all her charges prove true.

hehehe..

All this mud slinging while nobody has addressed the truth about liberalism being a religion:

* its sacraments (abortion)
* its holy writ (Roe v. Wade)
* its martyrs (from Soviet spy Alger Hiss to cop-killer Mumia Abu Jamal)
* its clergy (public school teachers)

Lets talk reality ..

Contrarian would appear to be intelligent so that rules out him calling Coulter a Patriot ... she does more harm than good to this country for attacking Vets and the nite she sat next to Hannity on the set and admitted calling NYers "cowards" was a defining moment how
phony the Right truly is as Hannity just shrugged his shoulders and said nothing ... and flappin Hannity is a NYer!!!

Do you know what she meant by that, Doc? She didn't mean NYers were cowards, per say. Don't be stupid!

She means, that NY firefighters, law enforcement, paramedics etc.... are not -- REPEAT NOT -- equipped to combat terrorism. Thus, the reason we must use the military in taking the fight to the enemy, over there, rather than here.

Ann's awesome, Doc! A true patriot! When Bush nominated his bud, Harriet Miers to the SC, Ann wasn't afraid to blast the president for what it was: cronyism. (And she was possibly the only one who voiced her displeasure for John Roberts.) So because of patriots of like Ann Coulter, Doc, Bush was forced to withdraw the nomination and Samuel Alito was confirmed, instead.

Ann tells it like it is. Ann's awesome!!
