actually quite the opposite. check last year's OhioSt game for instance.
i think the official reason for their suspension was "breaking curfew".

check the dumbasses who got a DWI over the summer. or the guy who got arrested (and booted off the team) for breaking into cars.

Mack has been pretty decent about suspending guys for violations in the past few years
