Thought this might help you all who are taking this game.....

South Carolina Offense vs. Arkansas Defense: The Gamecocks offense has struggled to put points on the board in the big games. Against Georgia and LSU, the Gamecocks offense didn’t show up. Against Tennessee, it did for a half, but then went to sleep. Against Ole Miss, they only played the last quarter and a half. Demetris Summers is a star as a freshman running back. He averages 5.2 yards per carry. Daccus Turman is a bruising back that averages 4.8 yards per carry. Dondrial Pinkins doesn’t complete fifty percent of his passes. But he is a threat to run, and he completes the long ball. Matthew Thomas and Troy Williamson both have made long catches, and both are excellent receivers and deep threats. This team has explosive capabilities on offense. The best thing about this offense is that they have only turned the ball over eight times, and just two of those were fumbles. Arkansas allows 3.8 yards per carry, which isn’t too shabby. The secondary may be the best in the SEC. Opponents are completing just over fifty percent of their passes against them for just under twelve yards a completion. This secondary has been solid all year long. The way they stuffed the run against Texas showed that this team can stop the run. They’ve picked off eight passes this season already, which could come in handy against an inconsistent passer like Pinkins.

Arkansas Offense vs. South Carolina Defense: Has there ever been a more mysterious quarterback than Matt Jones? He will either win the game for Arkansas or lose it. He’ll make a great play, but fumble in the process by stupidly throwing the ball up in the air instead the opponent’s ten yard line, like he did against Auburn. Jones averages 6.7 yards per rush and has completed 56 percent of his passes. He has a good arm. George Wilson averages 17.8 yards per catch and Richard Smith averages 19.6. They have combined for nine touchdown catches. Cedric Cobbs 6.1 yards per rush. This offense has been putting up very good numbers so far this year. The South Carolina defense has not been great. But they have gotten the job done. Opponents are just averaging 3.8 yards per carry. The secondary has been solid, allowing just over ten yards a completion. The longest completion of the year is just 44 yards against them. That is a solid secondary. With thirteen sacks and seventeen forced turnovers, this defense has big play capabilities. The problem is that the Gamecocks defense is playing such a solid running game this week.

Prediction: Arkansas is a great team, particularly in Little Rock. This team showed tremendous effort in last week’s seven overtime win at Kentucky. South Carolina also beat Kentucky in an earlier Thursday night game. The Gamecocks are a good team that lacks a win against a really good team. Sure, the early win against Virginia was nice, but let’s face it. The Cavs didn’t have Matt Schaub and were a different team then. The Gamecocks need a quality win. Arkansas will come out flat and tired, and fall behind, only to come back in the third quarter. But the Razorbacks will wear out in the fourth and the Gamecocks will pull it out to finally get that quality win. South Carolina 27, Arkansas 20.
