Indiana +9/ Kentucky

I really think the number is to big here. I know you're thinking that there HAS to be better teams to put $$ on than the Hoosiers, but they may just win this game Saturday. This is traditionally a close game that will be within a TD at the end. Kentucky has sandwiched this game between 'Bama and Florida, a classic let down spot. KU has developed a lackadaisical attitude to this rivalry and IU is just beginning to get their team in gear. I can easily see IU controling the ball on the ground and giving the 'round mound of touchdown' some problems. The 'pilsbury throwboy' will keep this game close, with his mistakes. I think Lorenzen is a decent QB, but will struggle here. LoVecchio is getting better and better at QB and Lewis is a solid RB. Offensively the YPG are similar and both have had defensive meltdowns (IU/ Wash & KU/ Louis.). IU also had the bad draw of facing a talented UCONN team opening its new Stadium and its fans to D1 ball. MANY teams would have looked bad in that spot.
This one will have to be pulled out by Lorenzen in the end, if KU is to win. Check out the Kentucky website, it just rips on the IU rivalry and how it's an EASY spot for KU and that's why they should keep the game going year in and year out. http://www.kentucky.com/mld/kentucky/sports/colleges/university_of_kentucky/6782170.htm

I also read that KY has only won by 12 or more points two times in the last 15 years.

Might be the right side, but Dinardo is no coaching genius. Your points are very well taken. IU did cover last year in commonwealth stadium, and the Cats got a fourth qtr INT TD return late in the fourth qtr.
IU-WASH was 10-10 at the half.
Not sure if UK has the playmakers that the Huskees have.
Lorenzen does have a sore knee and a few nicked up players, plus, already played in emotional games with Louisville and Ala.
If not for DiNardo, would like IU a lot more.
But Lovecchio is a QB that might keep the Hoosiers in the game.
Return man Abney not been a real factor thus far for UK, really only one decent return this season.
Good Luck

Take IU at your own risk. I can describe their defense in one word: "HORRIBLE" I can't take a team with such a soft defense. I would pass on this game IMO. Anyway, good luck.

So. Carolina -14/ UAB

Blazers will not see double digits. So. Carolina got their close home game out the way against Lafayette earlier this season. It will not be pretty but SC will cash the ticket.

Clemson +5/ Ga. Tech

This is a great spot to lay against Tech here. They lost a hard fought one vs. Fla. St. and it drained them. Clemson can't seem to get out of their own way on offense, which makes the 5 pt spread seem suspiciously low. GT will be thinking of last week and Clemson steals one on the road here.

N'Western +3/ Duke

Cats have faced competition far above that of the Devils. Duke was smoked 27-0 by Virginia then faced W. Carolina & Rice. N'Western had games against Kansas, Air Force & Mia. (OH). Last week's final score blowout to Mia. (OH) is indicative to how N'Western plays when Basanez is not at QB. He left the game when the score was 10-7 and N'Western was out of it from that point on. With a healthy Basanez and Wright at RB this O will be in full gear and will outscore the Devils for an outright win.

I could in no way lay any pennies on Indiana, but your talk of the rivalry is true. Traditionally a good game.

All the best

I dont have them as one of my picks, but I have to agree with you Hustler. Games in this series generally do go down to the wire. Plus, they lost the best punter in the nation last year (KU that is...okay im partial to him...I played a year of college baseball with him before he transferred to KU)For the record I was just kidding about the impact of losing a punter, although G. Pakulak was 2nd team all-american.

I'm pretty sure Basenez played off and on the rest of that game, he was cleary not 100%. I think that game was an aberration and that NU is better than that and their 4th quarter vs. AFA. Nice pick.

Aside from the ridiculous IU play these games were over at half, I wish each week was this nice.

Nice day Chitown, wish I would have pulled the trigger on Northwestern. Those looking for picks to follow, this guy is solid week after week.
