Thanks Sportsbet. By the way, I too cashed in big on the Eagles last night - way to go! Although, admittedly, I am a Packer fan but I thought that line was riddiculous. In any event Sportsbet, don't you think there is a big difference in not being blown out of any game as you said and having the firepower to blow out opponents? Yes, Penn St. has been competitive even in many of their losses, but I question whether they can cover such a big spread with, no offense, not a particularly stong offense. What do you think?
depot I have to look closer at the game with the Hoosiers. At first glance I would say NO WAY do we cover that line. As bad as Indiana is LoVecchio isn't THAT BAD of a QB...BUT:
Look at Indiana's one win....Illinois is not any better than Penn State right now. The one thing PSU can do in this league is play pass defense (11th in the nation against the pass). Unfortunately the Lions can't stop the run to save their lives so most teams don't have to pass the football to beat us. Indiana's defense is AWFUL though! Throw the Illinois game out and look at the points they've given up:
34, 38, 34, 31, 31, 37, 35, 55
It is senior day in State College and I think based on how poorly this year has gone this team will put everything and then some into this game. I can't be unbiased about this game so take my points for what they're worth. But I think Indiana is in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Oh and Gino Capone won't play on Saturday (one of our best LB's this year and a defensive leader) so that will hurt the D a little but when you're as bad as we are on run D it can't really get much worse.
