I have met this man and his lovely wife. WildBill is responsible for about 80-90% of the articles that people read on the Home Page. He is a writing machine and demonstrates much passion for this industry. Many of his articles convey a very keen understanding of the political fight we are always watching out for. That's one of the reasons I hired him when I owned this site...

I feel badly that he was misunderstood yesterday because I know for a fact that his heart is always in the right place...

For what its worth, I just wanted to say that I appreciate all that you do sir...:103631605

Thank you,

THE SHRINK

Wild Bill

I have no idea what happened either but Wild Bill is one of the reasons I started posting instead of lurking.

Let me join the train. I truly respect Bills opinions. He is a very clever, knowledgeable, and witty poster, particularly in terms of the political and financial side of this industry. Destiny meant for that article and after said and done, both Bill and OMT are very respected posters by us.

Good stuff

I'm sure Wildbill is a class act. He is a poor writer though. Sorry to break up the lovefest, but his job is to write here and he not up to snuff.

I don't think I have ever been to the main homepage of this site so I missed out on the controversy...but I enjoy Wild Bill's posts here in the forum.

I would like to reiterate that WildBill did not offend me in any way and has been quite sincere, even in my thread yesterday, about how he perceives my contribution to the RX. The whole point of my thread was that traffic need not be generated by a controversial poster and that "guys" like me, as stated in his article, can in fact bring traffic to the site by sharing our thoughts. He even stated that he would rather see more threads like the one generated yesterday then the many that have little value.

In that vain, I would further like to say that following yesterday's thread, I received a number of communications from members of this site clearly indicating that they would like to see much more handicapping discussions here at the RX so they can learn the craft. We have many young members, posters and viewers who truly have a desire to learn from some of the more seasoned veterans in this business. Envision if you will a round table type discussion on handicapping different sports, and in some cases, particular games. Further envision season veterans providing various approaches they use when handicapping a particular sport or game. Follow that up with discussions on money management, return on investment, etc. There are a myraid of discussions that are possible that would enhance the development of many and there is a strong thirst for that knowledge.

I am sure WildBill as well as myself would like to see more such discussions. Hopefully, this idea won't just wither and die on the vine like so many other ideas. This site addresses a variety of topics but is first and foremost a site for gamblers. The numbers indicate the site is growing and healthy. But one should never rest in trying to improve the product. The potential is unlimited for the creative. Taking the next step requires courage.

see much more handicapping discussions

The moderators here have tried to reduce the controversial and off topic postings in the past, but that, as well, was met with much resistance. It is a revolving issue. A fine line moderators walk gentlemen and they must be willing to only try and balance the act.

Where are all of the people who said Wild Bill was such a lowdown, no good, son of a -----, yesterday? The SHRINK please give Ted his advice column. That is all he has ever asked for. Q and A with OMT. Wild Bill can be the writing hero and Old Man Tofu, I mean Ted can dispense the wisdoms. I'll be fishing.

Best Wishes...OF:howdy:

WildBill is a talented writer who I thought was maybe out of his ream of expertise writing about the business aspect of this site or even this industry. He could write about his observations but he stepped into an authoritative role and was over matched.

TheRx is in an excellent position to distance themselves from other forums that are putting up absolute dog books. I'd like to see him write about becoming an elite super-forum by only allowing the top books(best books, best forum best posters, are you getting my drift?). Make it to where books want to kill to get to be advertised on TheRx.

More or less completely agree with the thrust of your post, and dare I say it probably even more to the point than the original artilce.

Wild Bill in his article I remember stressed that the Rx forums and site is a business.

Whether you like the business first, posters second attitude from that article is up to the individual.

Well I tend to agree with WildBill in a sense. I have never even heard of OLDMANTED before yesterday. But the drama is what keeps people coming back for more

I disagree with WildBill at times, and will not be afraid to call him out when he is wrong (in my opinion), but I NEVER make it disrespectful and would expect the same from him.

Bill is a complete class act and one of the biggest assets this forum has. He needs to apologize to NO ONE and I will back him up every step of the way.

I would expect if he disagreed with me, or any other poster for that matter, they would let their opinions be known.

NONE of us are right 100% of the time, and the ones that think they are become fleeting ships in the nights.

One day I will meet WB and shake his hand and give him the utmost respect.

That is all I have to say.

Speaking only for myself, OldmanTED is one of the best poster I have ever come across on the internet on any forum on any topic. Simply one of the best ever in a posting forum.

I cannot speak for OldmanTED, but I do wonder how does a man of his integrity feels when he sees certain banners up there? I do hope he is okay with it, he makes the forum a worthwhile place for me and not the banner.

In Wild Bill's artilce, I definitely got the impression it was the banner that made the site worthwhile. That I do not argee with, but it is THEIR business.

As for the drama referred to ... afternoon soap operas even the ones on prime time probably offer more entertainment value, althought this place does have it moments.
