In defense of Cabbage soup diet

Felt compelled to do this after googling CS diet and seeing all the negativity heaped on it. For starters, many of the detractors were pitching their own methods (usually not free) and were basically saying 'that diet sucks, try mine'. The cabbage soup diet does in fact work but you have to adhere to it and don't cheat. You will lose weight guaranteed. It is a 1 week diet that will also detoxify (this is very noticeable) and is an excellent springboard into a longer term diet. It's really not that tough a diet in that you can eat all the soup you want throughout diet. Yes, I'm repeating from similar post from last year but I got a little pissed-off just now after reading how it is supposedly not good for you and counter productive. If you understand that it is a short diet going into it, there are no big negatives unless you have a medical/diet condition in which case any diet could be wrong. Had to vent - carry on.

I just did the vegetable soup diet for a week lost 10 pounds. A month later I've gained back about 2lbs. So yes it does work.

Coming off the diet is key, I eased off it a couple weeks ago and wasn't disciplined enough about it over weekend so I put myself back on it. Damn those gourmet cookies!!

IMO, you need to combine any diet with enough exercise to keep calories burning... next week may try alternative soup diet, many out there that don't look too burdensome.

The only thing better is the watermelon and carrot diet. If they only sold watermelon all year long.

Try the sacred heart diet just google it the soup tastes real good alot better than cabbage. certain days you can eat meat, veggies etc. Not a cure all but a good way to jump start some weight loss.

I'm back on my 2/3rds diet. Except that this one never ends. I eat 2/3rds of what I normally eat. I also try to eat less fried foods and less fatty foods like pizza and hamburger.

I also believe that you should allow yourself to splurge once a week. If you don't you will end up feeling like you are missing something and will not go through with the diet.

I hope to follow this the rest of my life. I feel less tired. I have more energy and I look better.
