Oklahoma football might already be feeling effects of the racial chant that caused a fraternity to be banned from campus.Four-star offensive line recruit Jean Delance announced Monday he was decommiting from the Sooners and reopening his recruitment.

Delance originally committed to the Sooners in November, but has seen his stock rise in recent months and several more offers from FBS programs have rolled in. Texas and Texas A&M are considered the frontrunners for the Mesquite, Texas product.
It’s no coincidence that Delance’s decommitment for “personal reasons” came a day after a video surfaced that depicted an Oklahoma fraternity participating in a racial chant. That fraternity was banned from campus on Monday amid protests, which included several football players and coach Bob Stoops.
Bob Przybylo tweeted that he spoke to Delance, who said the video played a role in the decision.

I've known plenty of people that have been in OU fraternities, and none of them tell me there was any racism going on then. OU has actually been more welcoming to minorities than just about any university in the country. Especially when it comes to football. Switzer and Fairbanks were recruiting black players long before some of these other major colleges even dared to, including Notre Dame. In fact, back in the late 60's and early 70's Switzer used to have a video he showed to black recruits of Texas coach Darrell Royal in a locker room saying that a black player will never play for the University of Texas. So the Sooners broke a lot of new ground recruiting black players to a major university. Next time you come in here trolling and looking for a response, just remember that the problem with throwing out blanket statements about racism is you never know when your going to get caught up in it. We could just as easily see a group of Notre Dame imbeciles doing a chant of their own someday. The only difference right now between these OU students and any other students at another college is this group was stupid enough to pul this stunt in the day and age of social media. Some sort of racism will always be around in my lifetime. But if you think it's worse now, you haven't lived long enough. I'm old enough to remember one of the biggest racists in the country George Wallace making a strong run for President in 1972 before someone shot him. We've come a long ways since then. But sadly I don't see the country progressing much further. The only thing that will kill racism is the melting pot culture of our society. It will be much different 50 years from now when all of us old white guys are dead. Just look at Tiger Woods for example. He was born to an Asian mother and a French/African father. He marries a Swedish white girl. So how are you going to categorize his kids of asian, african, french, swedish, white decent 20 years from now? Our society will look much different 50-75 years from now. I'm betting it will be pretty hard to be a racist without looking like a fool.
