Kerry is not disputing the the claims of the Swiftvets. Kerry is only threatening to sue the publisher, distributors and TV stations. Why not sue O'Neill? O'Neill says sue me.

Kerry could release his military records and kill the SBVTs claims if they were not true. No way Kerry would let this go on this long if the claims were not true.

Actually, the intellectual property rights to the words in the book belong to the publisher, who would have fact-checkers by the way, making them the logical target to be sued.

Kerry's been exposed...the swifties for the truth aren't letting up a bit. Their story is solid and the partisan media has treated them as rats, but rats with a important message that can only be proven false by Mr. Lurch himself. Come on Lurch, lets see the records, the ones YOU did not fabricate!

O'Neill issued the challenge after noting that Kerry's campaign has gone to extraordinary lengths to suppress the information in "Unfit for Command."

"On our first [Swiftvet] ad, he had two huge law firms send letters to every [TV] station, threatening to sue the stations themselves" if they ran the ad, the former Swift Boat commander told Crowley.

"The next thing he did was challenge the book's publisher, Regnery, indicating he would sue them if they continued printing the book," he added.

The best-selling author said that while Regnery declined to stop printing "Unfit," it offered to republish Kerry's 1971 book, "The New Soldier," which chronicles the top Democrat's anti-war protests with a group bankrolled by Jane Fonda.

GW has not threatned to sue ANYBODY in their basic right of free speech...Kerry has.

I have a question -- why was Moore told to pull his 9/11 ads because of a law that forbids the naming of candidate's names in advertising so many days before an election, but these swift boat vet guys haven't had the same warning?? Is this what Kerry is alluding to when he sends warnings to tv networks?

I didn't take the time to read you most-likely-bs of an answer, but I suspect it's yet again deviated from the truth of, "because I only hear what I want to."
