The short answer is if it's has already progressed to CTS, then no...it won't get better. You will need to see the ortho, get the nerve conduction studies done, have the surgical release to fix the problem.
If it has not progressed to CTS, then you can try:
1. REST - CTS is, at it's core, an overuse injury run amok. The best tx is rest.
2. Wrist splints at work and to sleep
3. anti-inflammatory drugs with food to protect your GI tract from ulcers
4. ice to minimize swelling over the CT
