I've lost all resepct for many of the smart and intelligent republican's on this forum. Exactly what the fuck is McCain going to do for 2 days to help fix the economy when all the top brains on finance and the economy are on it???

Are you shitting me??? The only thing that changed is McCain's stance in the polls.

Chime in republicans. I honestly wanna hear your thoughts. LOL..Look at Leiberman make his rounds strategically on FOX 1st, CNN 2nd and MSNBC 3rd all within 30 minutes.

What changed yestesterday as his focus was on energy and solar plants????????

I won't name call guys. I just want honest opinions. Do you honestly think McCain (WHO ADMITEDLY KNOWS THE LEAST ABOUT THE ECONOMY) things suspending the campaign to help solve the economic status??

I sure as hell dont.

When playing "catch-up" all tricks are on the table.
Problem is many will believe he really "means it".

The Democrats have said they wouldn't vote for a bailout unless McCain voted for it ... so McCain didn't start the "politics" ...

... but that is what told McCain that he was fuckt either way.

As for this being about politics, there is no doubt ... but Pelosi and Reid started it ... so let's not just blame McCain ... he did what desperate people do when he see that they're fuckt.

Is it a stunt? YES ... but did he start it? NO

Blah blah blah.

I think it is an admirable move on his part.
C'mon, Festering I know you've got a more intelligent mind than that. We've all been on this forum long enough.

Honestly though....lol. What is this move?

Doubt it ... this is what I read Festering Z write yesterday:

Putting gtc08 on ignore was the smartest move I've made all
week.

:lol::lol::lol:

When the smartest thing you do is to actually put someone on ignore, it really says a lot.

I know but seriously. Suspend a campaign?? A president can multi-task. Judging by the silence from the right I think it speaks volumes.

And one other thing.

McCain is using a SCARE TACTIC. Talking about credit markets are going to dry up???

Bullshit! I'm a mortgage broker. I"m the least bit worried. I"ve got banks left and right offering me stellar interest rates so WHAT THE FUCK IS HE TALKING ABOUT??The market isn't gonna tank. Who the hell is he fooling????

My gut opinion is that he is letting everyone know he is taking
this financial crisis very seriously, and doesn't want
all the bullshit campaigning to get in the way of getting
something substantial done in the short term.

In 1864, during the Midst of a Civil War, there was an election - nobody suspended their campaign.

I mean c'mon man. He is 1 senator out of 100 and not even on any of the committees looking into this.

So what do you suspect he has to gain from doing this? He hasn't been making many public speeches lately, and he could sure use the exposure of a debate. Why would he cancel? You tell me...and staying within the realm of reality would be a nice plus.

And btw...where do you see Obama leading by 6 in Michigan?

Both he and Obama are the standard bearer of thier party. This is where politics need to be set aside and come to a consensus.

Why do we need a "consensus"?????

What if I am a senator that doesn't want a bailout package. PERIOD? I don't want a freaking consensus.

In a democracy, you don't need a consensus ... you need to vote.

A vote is a vote. besides you don't mix congressional matters with presidential politics. To come in and cast a vote doesn't dictate suspending a campaign. They've got big enough planes.

this has nothing to do with bi-partisan efforts. This just shows McCain got desperate early. In a football analogy, its still a tied game mid way through the 3rd quarter. Why the hail mary now??? Cause it sure as hell look like it got picked off at the 20 and is being returned for 6.

One can demonstrate sincere concern about a national story without burning valuable life minutes pretending to be something he is not. In this case, pretending that his presence in Washington will somehow contribute a positive effect to the current national financial crisis.

Literally millions of Americans have invested large amounts of personal time, money and other assets into the McCain campaign for POTUS.

For him to set that aside so he can pose for photo ops in Wash DC as "someone who is Really, Really Concerned" is a slap in the face to those millions of Americans who thought they could trust him to stay the course and deliver 100% to these important final six weeks.
