I already showed you how dumb that argument is. You're money does nothing except pay down national debt. It goes to no additional programs. also left wingers like myself who believe in higher taxes don't just Believe in higher taxes for no reason. We believe in higher taxes for a reason.
Higher taxes for single payer health care. Universal college or technical school tuition. Extended social services like unemployment social security. Could go on and on.
youre argument is so easy to rebut
We would pay these programs with a more progressive income tax with the top 1 percent paying much higher rates than they do currently

They pay taxes just not income taxes. And when the top 10% make so much, they should be paying most of the taxes.

[h=2]Many people think that the rich are able to weasel their way out of taxes, but they actually pay an overwhelming majority of the taxes in the United States.[/h]What's more, their share of the tax burden is increasing.

The top 10 percent of taxpayers paid over 70% of the total amount collected in federal income taxes in 2010, the latest year figures are available, according to the Tax Foundation, a think tank that advocates for lower taxes. That's up from 55% in 1986.
The remaining 90% bore just under 30% of the tax burden. And 47% of all Americans pay hardly anything at all -- a fact that got Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney into political hot water last year.
"There's been a huge myth created that the rich aren't paying anything," said William McBride, the Tax Foundation's chief economist. "The rich pay a much higher rate than the poor."

There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that’s an entitlement. And the government should give it to them.

There are 47% who don't pay income taxes. They vote Dem, Repub, or don't vote at all. You guys are absolutely retarded if you think everyone who doesn't pay income taxes votes Democrat. But we already know you are.

what does this even mean? and why do your tax proposals get treated differently than every other tax proposal?

how on earth can higher taxes only go to paying down national debt but the tax increase you want goes to something good in your world? it's all in the same pot

you see, when you increase spending, you increase debt which is all your social programs have done since their inception. They increase debt while destroying the fabric of the inner-city family and creating poverty while taking away ambition. It's a lose lose lose across the boards

and when money goes to DC, it helps service that debt

I tell ya, liberals have creative ways to spin debits and credits to justify their poppycock, you've debunked nothing but your accounting knowledge. What you've done here is spin

As a classical liberal, I believe that government can sometimes act in ways that help people to lead lives that are happier, healthier, and more secure. The problem, though, is that the circumstances under which it is able to do so are very narrowly limited, difficult to foresee, and prone to exaggeration by politically interested factions. So while government is, in principle, able to do some good, there are very often (almost always?) superior non-governmental alternatives for better achieving the same end.
I think all of us know this on some level. Even people like Warren Buffett who publicly beg for the government to tax them more. After all, if Buffett really believes that he ought to be paying more taxes, then what’s stopping him?
The Federal Government of the United States accepts donations. Seriously. They go right into the general fund, just like your taxes. Here’s the address to send them to. If you’re so inclined, you can apparently even earmark your donation for the specific purpose of reducing the federal debt.

The big difference between charity and government is choice and competition. Wealthy individuals with a preference for government action may not voluntarily give to government because they are worried about how the money will be spent. Politicians, who may serve their own interests or may spend in ways that donors do not like, spend government money. The government cannot credibly commit to spend money on deficit reduction or the poor; it just might spend it on bombing Iran or building a bridge to nowhere.
