Matt,

I found this in case you need help next year.

Indiana, our Indiana
Indiana, we're all for you
We will fight for
the Cream and Crimson
For the glory of old IU
Never daunted, we cannot falter
In a battle we're tried and true
Indiana, our Indiana
Indiana, we're all for you!

Now go make Coach Knight proud, Indiana Matt.

went to wta event at Carson for 8 hours, then went to Hustler casino after. Poker has such a negative vibe and the people are soooooooo unhealthy, it makes me sick how tv glorifies this disgusting game. What a contrast when you compare tennis people to poker people.

People losing sleep, losing imagination, losing money, losing time. Pretty disgusting to be married to a chair for hours and taking advantage of degenerates. I play on a Friday night win a dime, but so what, its 4AM and now my weekend of exercise is shot down the drain. People dont shower, use profanit. If you play online your eyes go down the drain.

Look at the poker superstars, guys all chain smoking with 40% bodyfat, they are losers..

ElmerT, I only play at 2 tables at a time, not sure even if I got more screens I am quick enough to maintain optimum play that way. Anadvice how to up your hourly average. I know I have plenty of upside to my game, in particular I pay to see the cheap flops I should avoid with the weak hands, but am a sucker for the cheap flop that my land my a monster hand.

Yeah, Rail, Gus Hansen, Negraneau and Ivey are all obese.... nice generalities. But then what would we expect from a midget tennis player from SoCal....

I make about double that, and I will probably top out at 75k this year. Thats how much it sucks to play, when you know you have to do it. It gets very boring playing on a computer for an extended amount of time if you HAVE to do it. I usually have to force myself to play more than 15 hours a week nowadays, ecspecially when its summer. If you ever sit an play 4-6 tables of limit for more than 6 hours, you are dazed and confused, and its hard to think straight when you are finished, its not a lifestyle I reccomend.

Just curious, but how do you handle taxes in your situation?

The whole health issue is a good point too, I have gained about 25lbs over teh last year due to inactivity, fortunetly I was already in perfect shape. But now Im in "normal" person shape, but Ive since started working out again, and will be back in great shape soon enough.
Taxes- I put 10% of my winnings each week in an interest bearing savings account so I can pay them at the end of the year. Otherwise I dont want to go into detail about my "tax situation".

Depends on what you rcurrent job is. If you're standing on an assembly line for 10 bucks an hour, it's no contest. If you're a professional golfer, it's also a no contest. I don't think playing poker all day as bad as some people are say. I play around 20-30 hours a week as a second income and it does get old but it beats the hell out of what millions of people are doing for a living right now.

Ha! Trust me nobody stands on an assembly line making $10 an hour unless it's a staffing agency job. If you're union these guys make about $40-$50 an hour with a little experience and OT.

not even close around here, noone on any assembly line gets close to that these days. Used to you could get near $20 an hour in some places, but now they are lucky to be getting $14 if they are the ones on the actual assembly line, not supervisors(who dont make much more), etc. If that was the case, these assembly figures would be raking in 6 figures. I am talking about Indiana btw, I dont know about Cali or wherever.

made 58 bucks this last hour...

played 4 sit and go's at once . won 2 of them and finished 4 in the other 2.

screwed up .. should have hit the podium in all 4 .

when it gets down to 4 players at 4 tables , that is some wild sh-t.. my tables bouncing back and forth..

i wish pokerstars had a way to change their table size. my resolution on my 19 inch monitor is just a little too small..

couldnt sit here for 4 or 5 hours straight doing it. my brain would turn to more mush than it already is.

I think that's true. Plants closing all the time, everywhere. Maybe OK if you've been in a long time ( maybe not ?). I don't think it's a good future for a younger person.

WNO- did you try to change your resolution to 1600 * 1200? Most 19 inch monitors should do that. That will enable you to get 4 on the screen with no overlap

You guys may think I'm nuts but I think I've played 50 hands of poker in my life. I never had the desire to play. But I'm sure I'm one of those guys that would start and probably never want to stop. :lolBIG:

Matt those are all incredible things. I'm amazed. Watch that segment make it and get replayed 50 times like anything else poker related :>Grin>

You also dont seem egotistical which I think people also can appreciate out of someone.

Keep it going.

Which event was it you made the final table on? Sorry if you already stated that in another thread.

here is a link to the hendon mob database

I cant be egotistical because I suck half the time, I just play a ton and have great rakeback/prop deals. I'm really not playing well lately and am working my ass off to get better as we speak. My tourney game is great, but my limit game needs tons and tons of improvement to be at a top level.
