Wish I had all he money back that it cost me how to play this game

Started in college with parlay cards Guy passed them out actually one of the guys on the basketball team....Believe this we nearly all hit and he couldnt pay off...and had already spent our bucks....Well I was on cloud nine how eash this was so took off every saturday morning bright and early for Eddies 312 club in Ok. City. Took my lumps for sure. Been after it ever since Now 79 years old and enjoy it dont guess I will ever try to quit. Have always made enough money to support the habit so family never suffered. If they did I woud quit in a heartbeat.

First bet was a $2 six game parlay in 1990, all baseball. Won the first five. Lost the sixth game when Canseco (who was with the World Champ A's) got thrown out at the plate, and the A's lost in extra innings. Stupid 'roid head Canseco. Would have paid $426.

Tossing baseball cards or betting marbles. checkers and Michigan rummy

Flipping quarters going odd or even.

Pitching coins against the curb or garage doors on way to school.

Football cards pick 4 winners and win $9.00.

Playing in between and having to match pot.

High School started betting sports and bigger poker games.

Army was craps, pool, cards and football wagerng.

Adult life is stock market and casinos.

Now to get our kicks we play Russian Roulette

guess you're still undefeated .....

Good answer Sherman. I have been gambling for about as long as I can remember.

My dad used to bring me home "spot sheets" from the factory he worked at. Cost $1 to enter and if you picked 4 NFL winners ATS (basically a 4 team parlay), you won like $20. I was like 7 years and couldn't wait for my dad to bring home that spot sheet every thursday.

Around the age of ten, I used to try and talk my friends into gambling on everything. Checkers, Tecmo Bowl, Electric Football, horse, foot races, whatever. Would bet for baseball cards, cash, toys, food stamps, anything of value.

When I was in high school I used to run a weekly football pool. A few bucks to enter and whomever picked the most winners ATS won the pot. One time I got caught running off copies of my contest cards for that week using the school's copier. I had a big blue folder that I kept all of the pools in with "FOOTBALL POLL" written on the front of it and an envelope that said "POLL MONEY" where I stashed the cash - they confisacted everything. Only thing my dad said to me when the school contacted him about it was to use a little more discretion. :103631605

Nice overlay on the 4-teamer ( 19:1) with 16 outcomes.

Gambling makes life a lot more interesting. I sometimes bet $10 on a game just to make it interesting to watch. It's cheaper than a movie and a dinner and a lot more entertaining.

For those laughing about Tecmo Super Bowl, we used to bet on it in the dorms until our hands fell off. Then, when we were too blistered to play, what did we do?

...We'd make predictions on division winners, playoffs, super bowl, and let the computer sim it out while we WATCHED. We'd usually watch the super bowl in live COM vs COM action. We had an elaborate scoring system with payouts. God I love that game.

:lolBIG: . .That is just crazy.

I am a huge fan of the game myself. Boy I miss those days being a teenager having tecmo tournaments when school was snowed out.

To get back on topic, I used to say I wish I never started. But now that I have finnaly finnaly got off the hurdle of going bust and being broke until my next paycheck, I say it was all worth it. I really love handicapping and gambling, the feeling you get when you get paid and when the game is over you knew you were right about your prediction. It just makes it all worth it.

My first true bet was at the track, but prior used to play high / low with my friends on the weekends.

Now, would I've become a gambler. Good question, I always liked money and started working at a young age when my father would let me. In addition, I started investing in the mutual funds at a young age. I remember sending $25.00 every Friday to the mutual fund after cashing my check. If I can remember correctly, the mutual fund was Franklin Group based in California.

Now to the question: WOuld you have still made that bet and become a Gambler?? Answer: Probably yes.. only because I like to move money, not live on a week to week basis. Which it's not a bad idea working on a week to week basis.

:103631605 Good stuff. We used to play it hardcore back in the day too. I would bet anybody that would be willing to play me. It still has a pretty big cult following. There are online leagues out there that use updated rosters, keep records, all kinds of stuff. http://www.puretecmo.com/forum/http://www.puretecmo.com/

Gamblers tend to be very competitive. The people on this site are true gamblers, not penny ante types. I love to gamble b/c I can't compete playing football in the NFL but I can try and use my mind to find angles that others are missing.

Five bucks on Baltimore in the '79 series against the Pirates; what a way to begin a "career". Can't believe they lost three in a row to a bunch of "sisters".
