If you all remember awhile back Bush passed a bill that made it harder for people with debt to file bankruptcy and FORCED people to PAY BACK money that was OWED to Creditors (BANKS).... In other words they were stuck and had to eat it... SCREWED THE LITTLE GUY.

Now these banks should have to do the same thing..

The plan calls for the federal govt to buy the securities. Once credit is freed up and the banks start making money again that money will be returned to the taxpayers. Thats the plan. So to say that the White House is sticking it to the taxpayers is overstating it.

The bankruptcy statutes had been in place many years. The purpose was to give debtors another chance. The republicans took millions from the credit card bankers to change the statutes to favor them.

Has been the case for as long as I can remember, the republican party protects and serves big business and the very rich.
