If there is a Texit/Secession movement, how should the new country's constitution be different?

I think the current US Constitution is a good template, but I would make a few changes.

1: Judges at the federal level should pick their successors. Make a list, 1-10, and have the Senate confirm the replacement by simple majority vote. If the Senate can't agree on a replacement, the current court will pick the replacement by majority vote.

2: Freedom of speech and expression is still legal, except when advocating in any way for the government to redistribute money or anything that can be exchanged for money, except what is mentioned in Article 1, Section 8.

3: Any weapon the military has can be owned and used for defensive purposes by any citizen in good standing of the law.

4: The only tax the federal government can levy is a sales tax, and it must be uniform for all things bought and sold, and for all people.

5:[FONT=&quot]Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States. (I copied and pasted a proposed 28th Amendment for #5)

1. No. Liberal judges will appoint Liberals and visa versa. Let the sitting President do it but add tem limits.

2. Yes.

3. No. Citizens don't need heavy weapons I.E. Tanks, rocket launchers etc. A Glock is all you need.

4. Yes. But make it reasonable.

5. A resounding YES.

And how do you do that? All some libtarded judge has to say is, "times change!" and the supreme Law of the Land becomes toilet paper.

I agree with Dave, status-quo but with term limits.

All speech is legal except socialist/communist/statist propaganda - love it! I would add Islam to that list as well.

3: Any weapon the military has can be owned and used for defensive purposes by any citizen in good standing of the law.

I have no problem with this. If someone wants to buy an M1 tank all the power to them.

4: The only tax the federal government can levy is a sales tax, and it must be uniform for all things bought and sold, and for all people.

I prefer tariffs over taxes.

5:Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States. Much like the judicial branch, Congress needs term limits. Also, make the legislature part-time with very low wages, where lawmakers make non-political livings and only pass laws on the side. The more chains we create that bind the mischief of government, the longer the republic and its citizens will remain free.

Alright, what would you do?

Abolish anything and everything 'progressive' and start over. Zero tolerance for 'meanings' and 'interpretations' of the Constitution - if it isn't explicitly spelled out in black and white, into the trash bin it goes.

My thinking behind #1 is imagine if we had 9 Scalias on there. One dies, he picks who will replace him. Basically, what I'm trying to make more safeguards for individual freedom. We know how liberals will attack our freedom, by saying the constitution is a living breathing document that wasn't written in stone, but instead meant to be reinterpreted from time to time by judges appointed by the majority of voters.

1) You can't advocate using the government to make someone give you money. If you're able to get politicians who will try to do that anyway, then

2) the courts are packed with people who will say that is unconstitutional. If the judges decide that you can redistribute wealth, then

3)the citizens have the power to defend themselves.

Keep in mind that the more powerful the weapon, the more it costs to acquire and more complex it is to maintain and operate.
