If the Florida Gators or Oklahoma Sooners played USC at USC?

Why do people say USC would be favored no matter what? Sure USC has home field advantage but the Gators or Sooners I believe would beat USC straight up at the Colisieum.

If USC went to Florida or Oklahoma, oh boy they might lose by double digits in both of them.

YOur thoughts?

Bookmakers would not put USC as a dog to anyone in the country.

USC losing by double digits? Get a clue, that would not happen. They haven't lost by double digits since losing by 11 to Notre Dame in 2001 in Pete's first full year at the helm.

USC hasn't lost by double digits since 2001. USC would win in LA for sure.

USC would be favored over OU on a neutral field, and probably favored by at least 7 at home. Florida vs USC would be a tight line on a neutral field, I don't know which way the oddsmakers would go there, but USC should be favored. At the Coliseum USC should be a 6 point favorite at the least.

No way in hell would this USC team be a dog at home, no way in hell would they be favored by less than 4 at home to anyone.

USC would be favored over UF, that is what Fowler wrote in a column. He said he spoke with MGM/Mirage linesmakers.

I actually think that with the exception of the year that Texas beat USC, that the Trojans have had the best team in the country for the last 7 or 8 years. The year they beat OU for the national championship, I guarantee you they would have beaten an undefeated Auburn team that year just as bad as they beat OU. That was Carroll's best team. This team basically beats themselves every year, and have only themselves to blame for not making it to the title game... But as far as having the greatest accumulation of blue chip NFL talent there is no team in the nation that has the player riches of this school. I would say Texas probably has the second biggest accumulation of talent. But still not nearly as much as USC. As far as this year, I'm not real big on the USC offense. But they may have the best defense to come along in the past 10 years. And I believe with a month to prepare would defeat any of these top 5 teams on a neutral field. My only hope is that Neuheisal at UCLA will start cutting into the USC talent pool and bring them back to the same talent level as the other major powers. The last 10 years under Carroll they've had an embarassement of riches. You would think that eventually this will come to an end.

I don't get peoples' love for USC? I live in SoCal and I think USC is way overrated.

Their def has good stats, but it is more to do with who they have faced than their defense? I'm not saying it's bad, just overrated. Don't think they faced one QB that would start in the Big 12 teams and the only offense that they played against that has any pulse would be Oregon. Again, they're good, but overrated.

USC's offense is above average, at best. They have the big time names, but results don't say they have big time game. They scored 17 on Arizona and Cal, not the best defences around and one was at home. Sure they scored on the state of washington, but who hasn't?

Also, I'm sure most of you would agree that the Pac10 and Big10 is about the same in strength. Penn St. dominated their conference, USC got by, yet nobody gives them a chance against the Oklahomas and Floridas, but would take USC over any of them? Both of their losses were about the same.

USC is always over hyped to death. In 2006, they were considered the best team ever in college football history, then lost to Texas. This year, they talked about this defense being the best ever, then they go out and lose to Oregon St.

USC minus the hype = 7th best team this year. Results on the field speak louder than names on paper. Alabama, Florida, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas Tech, and Penn St are all better THIS year.

It is comical you think 7 teams are better than USC. USC has proven it plays when it feels like it. Even when they play like they could care less, they still barely lose & most times win in spite of that. Why is that? Because they have the most overall talent bar none.

They played their C game against Texas & still should have won if not for shoddy officiating & a miracle drive at the end. One call made correctly & the results are different.

USC would beat that Texas team at least 85% of the time.

Everything else you said was just an opinion of yours not based on much knowledge or experience watching them for the past 8 years. But this shows that you don't understand the nature of college football. Name me ONE team in ANY conference that hasn't had a close game or two. Where they didn't put out like they did the rest of the year. Who passes the acid test? NOBODY! But because you choose to hold them and no one else to a nearly impossible standard, that makes you right? I ain't buying into your square thinking. If I did I couldn't make money at this.

Just because anyone can score on Washington doesn't reflect bad on USC in the least way. So why do you bother to even bring it up? Are you just trying to degrade them somehow as a team because they played them and kicked their asses "like everyone else"? How the fuck does that make USC any worse for them doing it too?

Now about your comments about Cal and Zona. First of all, Cal's defense is pretty good and Arizona's has been a work in progress and this year they were pretty good too. Sure both of them have their weaknesses and USC exploited them and beat them. Wise up. You talk as if you don't understand how conference play can be harsh for any good team in any conference. But in any event, you can't single out one or two games and say that represents them or any team. The fact is that over the years, this one no different, they could anhiliate anyone on a given day. Why do I say that? Just look at what they've done. I hope that's not too hard for you to understand because if it is, I just wasted 5 minutes explaining something to you that you should have already known.

However, this yr IF (big word) Gators are @ full strength (Harvin) they can play SC toe to toe. Edge on "D" to SC, same edge to Fl on "O". For some reason I'm just not that sold on Sanchez. Very good? YES. On a par w/Tebow? NO. NC game w/2 best should be but it won't!! BOL SC will beat PSU by DD IF they come w/their "A" game. Always enjoy your WC insights. :toast:

USC, in a big game on the national stage, just doesn't lose.

They will bury Penn St...I'm going to enjoy another Big10 demolition, with all their fans crying "it's different this year!"

And there it is..the benefit of the doubt USC always gets because they're so overhyped all the time. If psu wins or keeps it really close...USC just didnt feel like playing..or didnt bring their "A" game...but of course..."they would still win that game 9 out of 10x" because i say so and the media says so. Its amazing how all their losses are always explained away that way....how about letting the on field play and results dictate how good t these teams are...not recruiting rankings and espn. I totally agree with Krnboey.

People like you want to disregard USC as hype. The results speak for themselves. No team has been anywhere near as dominant as USC has been the last decade. Secondly some of us actually know how the team reacts & they are a team who knows how talented they are. They know they can go through the motions & win the majority of the time. They are the best big game team bar none the last decade.

Even when they play an average or below average game, they usually do win 9 times out of 10. Under P.C. they are winning a shade over 85% of their games. When they do lose, it is almost always a small loss. They have not lost by double digits in 7+ years!

The results do speak for itself!

Ohio St is better than any team OU or Texas have beaten all year (minus TX beating OU of coarse)..

On a neutral field I would have Oh St -8 vs Ok St, and -4 at the very least vs Tech. Way more talent on the field for Ohio St. Strictly talent wise Ohio St might be #2 or 3 this year.
