And so does texas and florida......clearly miami is left out of national championship game....

SO...

Do you think it is safe to say that it will be a bigger deal than when Auburn was also left out due to the fact that is miami?

It certainly wouldn't be the computers who leave Miami-FL out in this scenario, assuming they go undefeated.

Let's throw another monkey into the wrench: What if the Trojans go unbeaten? Something tells me that the CPU's will call for a USC - Miami-FL national championship game based on their SOS.

I agree that, based on SOS, an undefeated Miami should play for the NC even if Florida and Texas go undefeated. If USC stays undefeated (which they won't) than it would jack everything up since the computers love USC even though they play a bunch average and below average teams.

I think you can argue Florida, Texas and USC all play tougher schedules than Miami. Well, maybe not Texas.

Miami has Oklahoma in their OOC schedule which is a very tough matchup, even without Bradford, but they will lose points for that. USC playing @ Ohio St is a tougher matchup.

Than Florida will probably have a tougher schedule just because they play in the SEC vs the ACC. The "tough" teams in the ACC like FSU, GT, and VT would not be top teams in the SEC. Georgia Tech might not even be a bowl team in the SEC.

Explain to me how Florida and USC play tougher schedules than Texas? I see it pretty much even when none of them really play anyone of significance. Florida and Texas avoided every big game they could and USC just plays in a weak conference so I don't see how that could be the case.

Miami plays a much tougher schedule than all three of them and would deserve their shot but I can also see a huge let down spot for Miami in the near future so it will be a mute point fairly soon.

Would be fun though to see an actual team get to the NC based on how they play and the people they beat instead of just having a name and a sense of entitlement.

My predictions:
Florida = 1 Loss (SEC Championship Game)
USC = 1 Loss (they are going to eventually)
Texas = Undefeated (OU out, no real games)

miami is not going undefeated.

this thread is pointless.

they eeked out a win over a mediocre ACC team and beat up on another mediocre ACC team. whoopie. they will lose eventually. they are not that great.

Well if they win their next two games the chances they go undefeated increase a lot. That's when to start talking about it.

Clearly you are either blind or stupid? Which one is it. A team full of sophomores and freshmen starting is just mediocre because they "eeked" out a win in a RIVALRY game ON THE ROAD, and then stopped the potent triple option and were unstoppable racking up over 400 yds on offense. Hard to call this team mediocre. Now we will see how they finish out these next 4 games but don't say stupid comments like that it is hard to take you seriously. Now I am not saying they are great or amazing but by calling them mediocre you are putting them in the same class as Oregon or Notre Dame. I mean comon

Well for starters, USC did a great job scheduling OOC games, with cross country trips to Ohio State and Notre Dame. Both teams will win 9+ unless something unforeseen happens, meaning they will be somewhere in the Top-25. Next, they play California - a team many believe is a Top-15 squad this year - in Berkeley along with Oregon at Autzen, not exactly the easiest environment to win at. Their final two games are against Washington and Arizona State, two clubs who could make bowls should the ball bounce their way. The home schedule is a joke, with Oregon State probably the best team on the slate this year. Stanford, Arizona, and UCLA could surprise, but the keyword is surprise. The remaining 2 home games (San Jose State and Washington State) are lower tier clubs who aren't expected to do much this year.

Texas on the other hand did a miserable job scheduling quality non-conference opponents, with UL Monroe, Wyoming, Central Florida, and UTEP on the schedule. As of right now, it doesn't look like any of those teams are bowl bound, which will hurt UT's SOS. They don't play Nebraska until the Big XII championship (assuming both schools make it) who many believe is the best team in the North this year. They do miss Iowa State and Kansas State, two squads who in all likelihood will finish 5th and 6th in the Big 12 South this year. Oklahoma State losing to Houston's upset last week sure didn't help Texas' SOS, seeing how a W in Stillwater would have looked a whole lot better against a 10-2 Oklahoma State squad. In this scenario, Texas' biggest win would likely be against Oklahoma or Oklahoma State - both whom would have 3+ losses.

(OOC schedules) / conference games against LVSC Top-30 teams:

Miami-FL: (at #27 South Florida, #8 Oklahoma, at UCF, Florida A&M) / #18 Clemson, at #19 Virginia Tech, #19 Georgia Tech, at #29 North Carolina + ACC CG opponent

Total games vs. LVSC Top-30 teams: 6 (likely 7; ACCCG opponent being the 7th)

USC: (at #8 Ohio State, at #11 Notre Dame, San Jose State) / at #5 California, at #22 Oregon, at #29 Arizona.

Total games vs. LVSC Top-30 teams: 5

Texas: (UL Monroe, at Wyoming, Central Florida, UTEP) / vs #8 Oklahoma, at #14 Oklahoma State, at #19 Kansas, #26 Texas Tech, Big XII CG opponent

Total games vs. LVSC Top-30 teams: 4 (likely 5, Big XII CG opponent being the 5th)

Florida: (Charleston Southern, Troy, Florida State, Florida International) / at #16 LSU, vs. #24 Georgia, SEC CG opponent

Total games vs. LVSC Top-30 teams: 2 (likely 3, SECCG opponent being the 3rd)

IF Miami-FL and USC run the table, I would place them ahead of Florida and Texas. They earned it. It's a big IF because the ACC usually beats up on each other, and Barkley is bound to have one game where he looks like a freshman.

"clearly" you are from miami. ND would probably beat miami at a neutral site. i give credit where it is due, but lets see what happens over the next 3 weeks before we start threads like this one

Excellent points GoBlue! It is always good to see a logical and fact based comparison rather than one's gut reaction and personal feelings. I am also a USC hater and sometimes get a little heated due to the fact that I do not drink the USC kool-aid and see them for what they are.. a decent team.

One thing is for sure, Florida has a yellow brick road all the way to the national championship with only bumps being LSU and Ole Miss (probably) in SEC Championship. Georgia will be no match and do not even deserve a ranking at this point.

Anyways, great thing is... It's only week 3!!!

Man I love College Football! Go Tigers!! (Missouri that is)

There are a few HS teams that have tougher schedules than Texas does.

Their last 2 football drives in my opinion cost them big time. They just don't get it in my opinion!
