It will be a cold fucking day in hell.

47-17 with 7 min left. UC Davis goes 58 yds in 4:44 for 47-24. Hawaii is favored by 21.5. They fumble the kickoff inside their own 10 yd line with less than 3 minutes. UCD gets to the 4, delay pushes them back to the 9, 3rd down they throw an INC pass. The play call on 4th and goal from the 9, down 47-23?? With a minute left in the game??

Why, a FG of course.

They kicked a FG for the 47-27 loss but hey, we covered.

Give me one good reason why they kick a FG? A football reason.

This doesn't surprise me at all. I have seen personally many shady Hawaii games. When Hawaii plays at home they are usually the last game to be played meaning a lot of bets are wagered. A lot of playing with the spread has taken place. They were even under investigation a few years back for a San Jose state game. Anyways if you could figure out which side is needed then that would be good

I remember that SJ St game. We had an in game thread that is perhaps the greatest thread in the history of the RX. If I could find it I would bookmark it. Also recall a Hawaii/Washington game that featured several blocked FGs and XPs.

I should have known better.

Funny thing is the qb in that San Jose st game was able to buy a house a few months after that game while still in college? Let me tell you a house in hawaii is not cheap.

Visited Hawaii a couple of times....got to be friends with some locals there and the conversation turned to gambling.

There is a huge gambling culture there, and there were fixed high school games going back to the 1930s, evidently. Some cops are also bookies. On the Hawaiian Islands they call Las Vegas "The Ninth Island"....that is where Hawaiians go on vacation. So, I don't have any direct knowledge of what is happening now, but after talking to those people who weren't gamblers as far as I could tell......I would be very careful about wagering Hawaii games unless you have the lay of the land there. Also stories of giving visiting teams "Maui Wowie"...(hallucinogens) in plentiful supply. Hawaii seems to do great as an underdog and terrible as a favorite in island games. Knowing what I've heard your description of what happened at the very end of last night's game doesn't surprise me at all.

I remember I went to bed when Hawaii went 30+ points up, I had UC Davis +21.5. I went to bed because Hawaii offense was rolling at that point. Did not expect to wake up to this.

The Hawai'i - UNLV game in 2011 will always stick out to me.....UNLV wins outright by 20 going off as an 18 point dog after the line and ML moved heavily in their favor....the week before UNLV got smoked by Wazzu 59-7 and the week after they got smoked at home by Southern Utah 41-16

I was at that game. That blocked xp that was returned with under a minute left in the game gave UW the cover##)

sounds like a 30 for 30,...
probably one of the few places where "locals" have a very vested interest in final outcome

El Taino and the Hawaii boys. Usually money. They might not always win but I wouldn't bet against them. I only play Hawaii when he posts and follow blind.
