I woke up, walked into the bathroom and couldn't believe it, my right eye , swollen completey shut!!!

I thought at first I got a bug bite last night in the middle of the night, but after realing how bad this itches, it appears I have some kind of poison ivy , I'm hideous!

I've been sitting here all day with a frozen can of Sprite on my eye socket...is there any over the counter medication to reduce the swelling, this is unbelievable!??

I did, and I wanted desperately to get out at the half but the line was - .5 , it felt like the Ravens were just hanging on, I couldn't bet -.5 and risk the losing by 3....

It capped off a horrid weekend that started so well for me with 3-0 early saturday...

I had something like this happen to me about 6 years ago when working at at OTW here in PA. I was auditing the money room one night and washed my hands as I always did afterwards. Apparently I didn't wash them well enough as I must have rubbed my eye and infected a thin membrane on the inside of my eyelid. Mine was swollen shut with some crust and burned and itched. Went to the eye doctor and they prescribed some antibiotics which took care of it within 24 hours.

Use Caladryl on the skin, or go to a wholistic/herbal store, buy some Pascalite powder, then smear some of it after slightly reconstituted into a mud on the affected areas, it will dry it out.

Take some antihistimines, as Ivy really needs drying from the inside out, at least it does for me.

thanks guys, i will try an antihistimine first...this is unbelievable, my right eye looks like George Foreman after Evander was done with him.

Sherman, not really, its too early to make large wagers in the NFL...the NFL is hard enough anytime especially this early, I'll probably wait til halftime tonight.

I believe that it may be stress related.

I usually put Manzanilla tea bags on my eye.

JUST DON"T TOUCH IT! I know it's tough not to.

Good luck.

Have you seen the South Park where pink eye ran rampant though the town?

Journey has turned into a zombie.

go to Walmart or Target right off of Rte 24 and buy diphendramine 25 mg, this is the same as oral benadryl. But these work better. They are cheap. They have anithistamine which will help block the reaction any further. You will get sleepy, but it is worth it. I rubbed some shit in my eye once, and the same thing happend, I took these pills and it helped a lot. Take a Claritin as well. Loratadine is good for this is well. A wet tea bag is the only thing I know that might help the exterior. Icing it will only slow the blood flow. not good. Also take Aspirin with the Antihistamine it will thin your blood and allow the Anti-H to get there faster. I would get on this quick, before your claw your eye out.

if it is around your eye it may be poison ivy , but if you weren't near the woods and you just woke up to it? more likely a stye. I think you can get over the counter meds. for it.

Thanks Dante, and I have been wanting to thank you for all the sweet things you have said about me to Fish in the last few weeks. I haven't been able to post lately, but hopefully I will get back in the swing of things!

I wish I had woke up yesterday with BOTH eyes shut. Nevertheless, may your eye open to nothing but a clearer vision of winners.

After reading all of the posts, I think you may just be better off having the eye removed and not having to worry about it any longer.
