I guess if Gundy would rather stand in front of 105K folks instead of 65K, but it won't be because of $$, that ain't happening. As Paul Finebaum likes to point out, Tennessee is as disfunctional as it gets right now.

It looks like Tennessee has narrowed its search to Gundy, Jeff Brohm (Purdue) and NC State's Dave Doeren.

David Cutcliffe told the Vols he wasn't interested. Who would have ever imagined a coach at Duke would tell
the University of Tennessee he had no interest.

Seems the once mighty Vols ain't so mighty anymore.

Listen, when Paul Finebaum, who I consider today's authority on the SEC, says a team sux, they suck. Not only that, he stated the school sux, LOL. As decent a season as Doeren has had this year, that would be scraping the bottom of the barrel. He was set to be out of a job if the Pack didn't make a bowl game this year, Chow had done all she could to keep him this season, it was do or be done. He won't last in Knoxville, be a horrible set-up. Can't comment on Broham, I'm well removed from the Big 10. Lived in Oklahoma for 30 years, so know a little about Stillwater and don't see that happening. Of course I didn't see Stoops' retirement coming either, LOL. Bottom line is you're gonna really have to want a mess to clean up taking the Vols job, no other way to word it.

Wasn't trying to prognosticate the Vols new coach, just playing devil's advocate for some of the names floating around. Ya know, everyone is up in arms about the Schiano debacle, but if memory serves me, he got tossed from Rutgers for some shady shit. Could be wrong, I quit being the human equivalent of IBM's Watson a few years ago. Anyway, you'd really have to want a few years of headaches and sleepless nights taking the Tennessee job imo. I'm not sure how much they're willing to pay, but it'd have to be large for anyone good, and doesn't look like anyone good wants that job.

Tennessee should have hired Cutciffe after they fired Phil Fulmer.

Great odds the school wouldn't be in this mess now.

Knew T. Boone wasn't gonna let Gundy go, LOL. Poor, Poor Rocky Top. We Vandy grads hate seeing them suffer, lol.
