Dogball... you couldn' be more dead on, that movie blew big time. What a waste of money, Don't think they are gonna have as near the numbers when the third one hits the screens Nov 5th.

Two hours of my life that I'll never get back.

Lander-
That is prety much what the story line is, but the movie is worse bc it simply is not the least bit engaging. The two main action scenes are boring and predictable, perhaps there is a good creative side to some of the characters, but I swear I had little idea or interest what the F was going on most of the time.

Ragu- I almost left two times, wish I had but I needed a break from reality today

I thought the first one was an "ok" movie. Better than a lot of action flicks, but not by much. Won't see the sequal until video unless I find myself with a ton of time to kill.

It seems some people are treating the matrix movies like some kind of religion. It is a F'ing movie.

I feel similarly about the Lord of the Ring movies, so maybe I just don't get it.

UB- NO, I really did not like the first one, I guess I got sucked in by the buzz.

Lakers- I like Lord of the Rings a lot, agree about the religion thing for matrix, I think it comments how obscene our culture can be at times, this is great marketing by Matrix people

Thanks to UB on the avatar, I like it as well

The first one was good. Great? nope, I would save that for movies like Shawshank Redemption.. but after watching this sequel I left the theatre out 40 bucks and with no clue what just happened the last 2 hours. As far as part III, I'd rather rent FLETCH at Blockbuster.

I can't wait to see it. The first one was one of the better written social analysis to ever come out of Hollywood. The brothers that put it together are the kings of symbolism and metaphorical expression.

I hear the second one has fewer action scenes, which would be fantastic.

Hell, anyone who has ever read a sci-fi book, would tell you that the scenario of the first movie is old news, and these guys are nothing but thiefs.

The movie was good, I watched it on my "Computer" heh, heh, saved the dollars and parking etc, etc.
You have to remember its a "SEQUEL" and then there is a THIRD, so you cant expect to see the "world". The action seen on the high way was good, but the still, slow mo stuff is kinda played out now, especially after so many movies copied it. But the story line is definitely interesting, what happended is there was toooooooooo much of a hype for the movies, maybe if someone CAME OUT OF THE SCREEN AND SLAP YOU IN THE FACE, then you;ll be saying WOW Great movie.

Not too many ORIGINAL MINDS left in Hollywood so what would you expect?

The studios are STUCK in recycling OLD storylines/scripts in 95% of the movies they've been releasing the last 10 years.

Some original stuff is coming out of Disney and Pixlar BUT they are animations.

One of the big problems is that it was too much fighting. The fight scene with Neo in the park against all the Mr. Smiths' was overdone and almost put me to sleep (the end of the fight scene, I admit, was funny though. Seemed like too much emphasis on fighting and the storyline suffered because of that IMO.
