<!-- end .byline -->WASHINGTON – The government has introduced a pair of new programs that will provide $800 billion to help unfreeze the market for consumer debt which Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson calls vital to supporting the economy.
Paulson says key markets for consumer debt such as credit cards, auto loans and student loans essentially came to a halt in October. He says the new programs are aimed to get lending back to more normal levels.
Paulson says all the government programs have been aimed at supporting the lending that is vital to the economy.

I wonder who's gonna pay for this one :ohno:

It will never end...check out the book "Communist Manifesto"

All these bail outs are going to come with a huge price tag. Not only for the consumer but now the government is getting into private businesses. Airlines, banking, transportation, real estate mortgages, etc. etc. And we all know how well those things operate.

The best part is ...we have no money!!! We are broke!

"Loading up the nation with debt and leaving it for the following generations to pay is morally irresponsible. No nation has a right to contract debt for periods longer than the majority contracting it can expect to live."

I thought the first 700 billion dollars was partially for this reason? Which is still bullshit anyway! Instead these fucking banks took the money to buy out smaller banks and fatten their wallets further. How can anybody that is a responsible citizen of this country not be repulsed and outraged about this shit?! People should be ready to fuckin' bulldoze the Capitol and say enough is enough. This shit transcends way beyond Bush, Obama or any of them so don't go there. These are policies that the financial institutions are promoting behind the scenes and exploiting the taxpayers big time. I am convinced now that financial institutions rule the world and everyone else is just a pawn or a victim.

How about people showing a little fucking responsiblility for once? Maybe that'll do the trick, you would think. I'm not saying I haven't done some financially irresponsible things in my past but these things are done of my own free will and no one else should be "strong armed" to fix a problem I created. I'm starting to hate this fucking country.

Its easy to see why the avg Joe that is 15k in CC debt just says screw it
with all the flappin bailouts

I remember a buddy in 2001 who is a diehard "Dick" lover - as in Cheney -
told me that the business principals of Enron were "blown way out of
proportion" by the media

Let every rat bastard CC company sink down the shithole

This is one thing we can agree on. I own 1 CC that I use for online poker and that's it! But my mom owns 5-6 and they are some of the shadiest bastards. One changed her interest rate by 10% recently and she didn't know why. I thought maybe she had a late payment and was part of her agreement, but nope! It was sold to another company so she was SOL. I told her to cancel it and tell em to kiss her ass, that she will pay for what she charged and they can eat the remainder.
They really take advantage of consumers.

I have a buddy I know in deep shit....

took out like 3 of them ... Payday Loans??

He couldnt pay and the fun started ... they threatened to throw him
in jail and were going to file with the Disct Attorney

Funny part? .... he calmed down ... did some research and found
out that it was similar to owing Capital One $10,000 -- KNOWN AS
NOT BEING ABLE TO PAY YOUR LOAN BACK

Credit Cards have wrecked lives ... sad part is the bastards are now
being exposed for their marketing techniques which suck in desperate
folks

SCREW EM ALL ...LET THE BASTARDS SINK LIKE THE TITANTIC AS I
AM TIRED OF THIS SHIT
