Tiger, yup theres one in Heredia, one in Guadalupe and one in Coronado. They all have their pro's and cons but lately homeless dogs/cats havent had much support government wise (they dont care for anyone for that matter) so its very difficult for them to take animals. The Coronado one for example has been ordered to lower their population from around 400 to about a 100 and until they do so will only be open for adoptions, plus they could really use some donations as the place is kind of sad. The one in Guadalupe like to call themselves an adoption center. They keep them there for adoption but dont really accept them. Believe me, its almost impossible for them to accept a dog. The one in Heredia doesnt convince me. Though its the best funded one, I havent heard too many good things about em which is kind of sad.
The dog is right now in no hurry to find a home as he was initially operated on last monday and a second operation was done yesterday morning. He will stay at the hospital until he is fully recovered. In about three weeks, the rod thingies will be taken out of the bone and he will have a cast for a couple more weeks. Thus I have about a month a half to find him a good home.
Though a month and a half sounds like eternity, anyone who's ever tried to find a dog a home knows thats actually short time.
Ill see if I can take a few pics of him so you can see what a nice dog he is.
If you know of someone who loves dogs though please ask them. I'm sure "Crash" as I named him, appreciates it.
