german shepherd/mutt. U know the type of dog that is a mutt but you can clearly see that somewhere along the line his father or grandfather or uncle was a german shepherd.

He's young and big, beautiful face, EXTREMELY NOBLE and sweet.

He's undergoing surgery today because some asshole ran him over and broke his left hind leg so they're gonna put a pin in his leg to stabilize it. He should be fully recovered in about a month so I need to get him a house once he's outta the hospital.

Have you tried a shelter, I know there's one in Heredia and I believe I saw one going to Guodolupe. Might be a good option and they'll take care of finding a home for your dog.

Tiger, yup theres one in Heredia, one in Guadalupe and one in Coronado. They all have their pro's and cons but lately homeless dogs/cats havent had much support government wise (they dont care for anyone for that matter) so its very difficult for them to take animals. The Coronado one for example has been ordered to lower their population from around 400 to about a 100 and until they do so will only be open for adoptions, plus they could really use some donations as the place is kind of sad. The one in Guadalupe like to call themselves an adoption center. They keep them there for adoption but dont really accept them. Believe me, its almost impossible for them to accept a dog. The one in Heredia doesnt convince me. Though its the best funded one, I havent heard too many good things about em which is kind of sad.

The dog is right now in no hurry to find a home as he was initially operated on last monday and a second operation was done yesterday morning. He will stay at the hospital until he is fully recovered. In about three weeks, the rod thingies will be taken out of the bone and he will have a cast for a couple more weeks. Thus I have about a month a half to find him a good home.

Though a month and a half sounds like eternity, anyone who's ever tried to find a dog a home knows thats actually short time.

Ill see if I can take a few pics of him so you can see what a nice dog he is.

If you know of someone who loves dogs though please ask them. I'm sure "Crash" as I named him, appreciates it.

Hey Slim,

I will ask around with friends and clients and try to help.

May I suggest you make a little flyer for Crash with his photo on it. You can put it up in the vet's office, or anywhere for that matter.

If you emailed me his photo or your flyer I will be happy to print it up and distribute it where I can, in the Escazu and Santa Ana areas. I can put it in a few local markets, and at the horse stables where there are lots of 'animal people'. Maybe we can find a loving home for him.

Best of luck,
Larisa

ok cool guys, I'll see if I can get a camera over there to take some pictures of the dog and hopefully we'll be able to find him a good house.

Let me work on that and I'll get back with you guys as soon as I have the photo of Mr. Crash

That sounds good Slim you don't even have to make up the flyer, I can make one for him with the photo. Get him to look as cute as possible

By the way... on August 28th in Rio Oro there is a vet speying and nuetering clinic. It costs 5,000 colones a piece and people who can't really afford it can just make a donation. Its something organized by the Coronado shelter so its very affordable in comparison to the 16,000 or so it would cost at the vets.

OK, its time to 'crash' myself.
