I need a new laptop, HELP ME !

My old one crapped out after 2 years a few months, that's all I get out of them.

I'm on a borrowed one now. Grabbed the SD's one, since she's going to Italy for a week, beats going to the library, which I've been doing the past two days.

I'll most likely buy a new one Mon/day, after the new ads start on:

www.salescircular.com

probably Bestbuy.

I want the standard old $400-500 laptop.

I'm open to suggestions, if you guys have a deal for me , from Tigerdirect or somewhere ?

No Toshibas, though.

saw this one at walmart a few days ago... great price IMO and I tried it out while there worked well

hey doug, have you seen the deal that HP is running with the release of windows 7, might be a good idea to wait until Oct 22nd (I believe thats the day), lots of good deals coming out with MS new OS.

I bought a refurbished Dell from their dealer network with XP, not Vista. Has no other garbage programs that slow it down. Get NOD32 for your virus protection, and thank me later.

My Acer works fine. Should be able to get it with all the tricks for under 300. It couldn't weigh less and is easily transportable.

My 1st laptop was a Toshiba, I didn't like it, had a lot of problems with it.

i would wait till you have one pre loaded with windows 7, I understand that upgrades are free, but upgrading may be a problem with drivers and such.

I could wait until 10/22 as ECS said, but will pre-loaded machines be available then ?

They are preloaded on OCT 22, im sure their are plenty sitting in the back right now.

Look at the ads in tomorrows paper, I know staples has a decent one for 379 and they'll give ya 75 off if you have a POS laptop to trade in

ads are out, I wanted to stay away from Toshiba, but they have one a good price of $350, and it's not a 10" mini.

Any reason to avoid this one ?
