leaving me with a 7 point middle

what percent of the original bet should I put on the other team in this situation?

You dont middle much and you have a nice looking bet. I'd stand, but I am one opinion.

I was thinking that General, but I have a nice chance to hit both, and should **** hit the fan and Will/Mary doesnt cover, it softens the blow.

Noreaga, if Old Dominion comes back and covers the 20, you obviously lose the +11 also_Only middle halftimes when you are at risk of losing nothing, but with the possibility of doubling your bet. Usually works best when you are on a favorite.........I'll explain in a few.......

hache, I think you may be misunderstanding what middle means.

I was contemplating betting ODU at the half.

Id then have ODU -13.5 and Will&Mary +20.5

now how can I lose both ?

lol sorry, I assumed you were jumping on William & Mary again! Sorry, in the middle of making wagers. Ok, then you have the chance to either stand pat and risk ODU coming back and covering the 20, therefore losing your original wager, or doing just what you said. You have to ask yourself how upset you will be if ODU comes back and covers that 20 when you had the opportunity to cover it. Obviously this one is very much in your favor at the time since the spread opened so large, but it does happen. BUT......the main thing here is, you have a chance to win twice as much now. It's very simple, if you middle it, then you are at risk of losing nothing, but have the possibility of doubling what you originally wagered to begin with. Pretty large margin there, I may have taken it. I find these situations work best in NFL..........

Best situations for middles imo work in totals like the following. I have Washington/Chicago Under 198 for game. Total score at halftime is 46-39 = 85 points. 2nd half total is Over 97 (which is probably too high), which would leave me a 16 point middle and an opportunity to win 2 wagers at no risk of losing......

hache, i was in the same position. no chance of losing both with a 7 point middle on a SPREAD not a total

it missed by half a point but still.

I know Noreaga, if you read up above I realized that and responed. I think you find much better deals with these situations with totals though........

ok

I might be wrong but I think a 7 point middle on a spread is not the same thing as a 7 point middle on a total. I think the 7 points on a spread has much much more value than on a total

I would say either is solid as long as you are a middler and are not just taking a shot in the dark.

These are different types of "middles" though. Not really the same as people who try finding middles such as 2 different lines on a complete game. This type of middle gives you much more bang for your buck.........

And there you have it, they both hit. So what begins the night with me hoping to just win this wager straight up, the opportunity comes and Im fortunate to actually win double my original wager. Opportunities such as the one above with totals come quite often with totals, of course, it's just the fact you have to have something riding on the game in the first place. Didn't even look Noreaga, would yours of hit?
