I may be getting arrested? can I have some advice?

Ok,,,, so Im running errands this morning,,, and I stop into ACE to get chlorine tabs for our pool, and a couple blow up floats,,,, I received a gift card a few months ago for ace,,, for 25,,,, so the lady says it wont work, she tries to run it,,, it says I have 25.00 on the computer screeen but wont work,,,

manager wont come to front to help,,,

so I call the number on back of card,,, and they say yes I have 25 on it,, i hand phone to register girl,,, still wont work,,,

5-6 mins and manager still wont come up front,,,

so I wait for her to cash 2-3 people,,,,

still no manager,,,
so I pull out 30 bucks,,, and put it on the counter,,, and tell her to keep the change,,, (this is a couple dollars over my bill 52.00)

so I go out to my car,,, and back out,, and guess what, the manager, miraculously comes outside,,, lol,, they write my tag down,,,

so Im sure I will get a visit from the police?

I just lost my temper, and got tired of wiating<<!--??

how deep is the shit that Im in?

Nah, ACE cards are valid at all stores, unless specifically noted, which I doubt. But, you just can't walk out on the transaction when not completed. Do you have the receipt when the card was purchased (always keep mine until first use for these reasons)?

Don't worry, you aren't getting arrested for shit. Just go ahead and go take care of it. take someone with you...

Yea I don't go to ACE anymore either. Their prices are higher, and their mom and pops store friendly attitudes are no more. It's easy to see how Arthur Blank was fired from his local hardware store (just like ACE), and now owns their pimp daddy, Home Depot. Imagine that...

Probably. She might of been doing it as a debit/credit, when most registers these days have "gift card" transactions. Same reason why most won't work for online purchases etc...

I am certain the law is if I dont get a receipt, and I leave before completing the transaction, then I am stealing,,,, Im sure thats how the law for shoplifting was written,,,

I wouldn't worry, but he didn't leave enough cashola to cover the entire transaction (they won't count the card if it didn't scan). Guess I would say screw it though if they don't call (hell they're liable to have it fixed by now), and tate even bought the cashier a snake and soda pop on her break...

The people that work there are mostly women in their 60s. And huge angry bitches.. I'm not kidding.. lol.. probably on 2 dudes work there and everyone is a bitch.
It wouldn't suprise me if they c all ed the cops anyway... lol..

Just tell the police that as you were waiting in line, the lady wouldn't stop complaining about how overweight and lazy the local cops are. Tell the police that you couldn't take her bad mouthing law enforcement any longer so you placed more than enough money on the counter and left.
