I Know It's Preseason, But Should I Be Worried About Orton??

I can't beleive how poorly he played last night. Im not going to get too excited since its preseason (although I was screaming at the TV last night), but some of the decisions he made were just terrible. What do you guys think? Maybe just some new team jitters working out or should I be worried about a long season? Or....just play Sims and we'll be OK. :toast:

I don't know....Orton played pretty much exactly how he always has played. You forget Orton is probably the worst QB in the NFL. Don't know why Denver didn't even look at taking Vick. At least you have Chris Simms, but take it from a Longhorns fan, Simms is not a winner.

I would be very worried. His role in Chicago was to not lose the game. He's never going to put a team on his back and make plays to win a game. If he's turning it over on top of that....

But like you said, its preseason which is historically meaningless.

What a heartless wonder he is. He'll compile huge numbers in meaningless situations against weak competition, but will get rattled to the point of ineffectiveness when the pressure is on.

I still hold a grudge agains that prima donna and his daddy.

All that said, he's got quite a bit of experience under his belt now. I think the older he gets, the better a backup he'll be for a team. As long as he knows that's his full-time role, he will play fine when forced into a game. But a starter... no. He doesn't have what it takes to be a starter.
