we aint getting no love. i am fully aware that we stink at the qb position. well i shouldnt say we stink, we just are very very conservative. jpw is not that good so we are limited. however, we can and will run the ball on anyone. our d can stop you also. last time i checked defense wins ballgames. i.e. oklahoma tonight. yes their o played lights out, but their d should be commended for not letting this thing get into a shoot out. they were awesome on d tonight. now back to what i was saying. most everyone has florida penciled in the bcs game. maybe no one talking about bama will shape up to be a good thing.

with all do respect, florida may score 70 on the armed forces, but alabama is no citadel. not on their worst day. no one head to head in the sec gets that many points hung on them. every game is a rivalry. bama may very well lose to the gaytors, but i can assure you it wont be easy.

Alabama's defense looks better than it is because they've played mostly lousy offenses -- the SEC is full of them. But they'll face one of the best when they play Florida and that'll expose a lot of what's been hidden over the course of the season.

The Tide has made big improvements from just last season to this one, but there are a lot of teams out there better than 'Bama. They'll need to find some consistent O next year to make a further jump.

The team speed, talent, and leadership is why Florida will walk away with a comfortable victory. Just as Bama beat GA, Florida will over whelm you guys. I won't take anything away from Bama but Ok and Florida are clear cut Nat Champ caliber teams.

Honestly, it is funny that you brought this thread up and the fact that many people are just penciling florida in the BCS game because I was kind of thinking similarly today as well...HOWEVER, after watching florida play since their loss to ole miss (who, just btw, is a very good football team) they just have looked ABSOLUTELY unstoppable and alabama has looked lucky almost at times...Consider common opponents both florida and alabama have played this year:

1. Georgia - Bama OBLITERATES georgia the entire 1st half but then gets outscored 30-10 in the second half...Florida obliterates georgia for the ENTIRE game...both teams win on the road

2. LSU - Bama needs OT to beat LSU down in Death Valley, Florida goes in there and manhandles them, not even close

3. Kentucky, Arkansas, and Tenn - Two of the three games, (arkansas not included) bama dominates the first half and gets taken to the wire in the second half and has to work hard to win the game...florida leaves NOTHING in doubt in any of those games, NOTHING

4. Ole Miss - I mentioned before I believe that Ole Miss is a very very legit team, tons of NFL talent in that D Line and Snead is turning out to be a very talented QB...this is obviously, who florida lost to and lost at home, but let's be honest, bama dodged a bullet themselves by winning that game because AGAIN they came out and almost laid an egg in the 2nd half...

For watever reason, alabama's offense has NOT looked that great since the georgia game...honestly, they have relied heavily on the defensive/special teams scores in almost every game since georgia and against florida that is NOT going to get it done...they are a team posessed after that loss to ole miss and while i agree with you that everyone is counting out the tide, i can't say that alabama has given them much of a reason not to...defense wins ballgames but alabamas defense is NOT going to shut down the gators offense, the question is, can the gators limit what is shaping out to be a VERY VERY VERY mediocre alabama offense...

just my 2 cents...:dancefool:dancefool:dancefool

don't worry my Bama friend, my biggest moneyline win came in 2003 with K-State against Oklahoma, the Sooners were the flashy team with piles of hype back in 2003, but K-State was the more physical team on both sides of the ball and pounded them 35-7 as 14 point dogs, as Madden famously says "It all starts up front", Furthermore, John Parker Wilson plays better on the road and Julio Jones is the next Terrell Owens, I hate laying points to a physical team with great defense, but first you guys need to end the streak against the War Eagle

I absolutely love Bama being relevant in CFB again, but if you pull a Texas Tech in the SEC CCG, you might miss the BCS entirely.

well i cant win the game for bama on a msg. board, its a moot point thats why they play the game. im glad that we all can argue about it and actually see the two teams finish it rather than compare it all for nothing like saying alabama is better or worse that....penn st or someone. i will close by saying bama and florida are a lot closer that most will give credit. alabama is in no way, except punch returns, flashy. we hit you in the mouth and hang on. if it wins so be it. i dont care if we ever score on offense if it puts a W on paper.

the last 7 words of your post were the best

and are right about julio. he is a manchild. i honestly didnt expect much with all the hype. man how has he surprised me. i wish we had a qb that could really open it up with him.

bama doesnt impress me. i like the style of football they play, but talent wise they really aren't a typical top football team. the sec was actually average this year at best which allowed bama to look great to some people. sec, and ncaa in general are weak this year. bama will get exposed to the top teams like florida.

bama will be right there now though with florida, ou and usc as consistent winners for the recent future. saban is as good as it gets at the coach position in college football. bama isn't going away anytime soon, but this is not there year. they would really have to beat both florida and oklahoma back to back to win the title and i cant see that happening.

like ive said for a while, if anyone wants to take bama to win it all tell me what odds you want and ill give them because bama isnt winning the title this year.

i might add one more thing. our last national title, 1992 almost the exact same scenrio. bland qb, played down to competition in almost every game. had to come from behind though i think to be la tech? sqeeked out a win at tennessee and other sec teams, but hammered the miami who no one though we could beat. also beat florida in sec champ game that year.

Too bad the SEC has to play a championship game, unlike the little 10 or pac-man 10............they would have a clear path to the BCS championship game. When the NCAA mandates conference champ games (like that will happen), It will be fair.

First off, the Pac-10 plays a full conference schedule where every team faces the other, so there's no need for a CCG.

Second, the Big-10 is an absolute joke. They play 4 of the most pathetic OOC games each year, 3 of which are at home. Unfortunately even for them, pathetic teams like Michigan will actually lose some of those gimme home OOC games against the likes of Appy State, Toledo, and Utah. What a joke of a conference the Big-10 is. They only play 8 conference games a year.

Finally, think of it this way, if it weren't for the SEC CCG, the SEC wouldn't even have the chance to win the national title, as Alabama would have no chance against a team like OU, Texas, or USC, but Florida would.

FL averages 230 YPG rushing. #11 in the country. Just because they dont do it conventionally out of the eye formation doesnt mean they cant run the ball.

My money will be on Bama in the SECC game. They are more physical, and Saban will have a great game plan in place to stop Tebow and company.
