I know in the long run parlays and teasers are losing propositions. Just like all these teams so I decided to play a teaser with local bookie risking $100 to win $800. $100 is a 1 unit bet for me so It's not a lot to lose. Just like the ability to win 8 to 1 on my Money.

I don't know what cross zero means except if you mean turning say Alabama -3 into Alabama +4. Why is this not good. To take a 3 point favorite which I believe will win ourtright but for purposes of this teaser to make them a 4 point dog to where a last second FG and I still win that one. Not sure if this is what you mean but I just thought swinging these lines 7 points looked good. Will try to look into crossing 0 to see If I can do it better next time though. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

That is exactly what he means. When you cross zero, you get one point less on your tease. -3 to +4 is really just 6 points since there are no longer ties in college football. It doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad bet, though.

OK I see what you are saying. Well I hope it hits. I have been up anywhere between +14 to +16 units each week the past 3 weeks so if this hits it just ensures it for this weekend. Nothing like cashing out with a local a grand every week and leaving 4-6 units for next week to stay positive. We shall see if I get lucky with this one.

They aren't saying its not going to win, but the argument against crossing 0 is that, if Bama can't cover 3 points, there is a strong possibility that they lose the game and can easily lose by 3 or 4 as they can by 7.
