The complaint was filed Wednesday in Maryland District Court in Upper Marlboro.

Portis and Ohalete made the deal following Portis' offseason trade from Denver to Washington. Portis wore No. 26 during his two seasons with the Broncos, but Ohalete already had the number from his three seasons with the team.

The two signed a contract June 4 stipulating that Portis would pay $40,000 for the number, according to Ohalete's attorney, John Steren. Steren said Portis paid $20,000 but did not make two subsequent payments of $10,000 due during the season.

"Clinton has been more than generous with Ifeanyi," Rosenhaus said. He did not elaborate

Ohalete, who switched to No. 30, was cut by the Redskins during training camp in August. The Cardinals claimed him off waivers, and he has become their starting free safety.

I went to Highschool with Ohalete and am friends with him. He got suckered and was even challenged by Portis to a fight for the number. In the begining of the year the Redskins safetys were getting burned BIG time, they turned it around but the skins missed out on Ife and could have pullled out a couple of wins with his experience.

I heard people on the radio saying Ife is a greedy person for filling suit. The guy busted his ass to make it to the leauge. And deserves every penny he gets, portis makes way more then him.

Its a bad situation for all.

i thought these were supposed to be fun things that didn't matter that much. unless it's jerry rice and his no. 80 you just pay the man and get the number. i'm a skins fan but a little pissed it's ended this way. and i agree ohalete really could have helped this year.
