Seeing Barack Obama nominated by The Democratic Party to be its candidate for president in November's election is a day I never thought I would see during my 60 years on this Earth.

As a honorably discharged combat veteran of the US Armed Forces and as a native son to the state of Massacusetts I can honestly say this is the proudest day for me ever as an American citizen and renews my faith in my country once again.

I know the Democratic Party will unite behind Mr. Obama and elect him as our next president on November 5th 2008.

I am very humbled by the entire experience.

FWIW - nothing new about my politics.

I voted for George McGovern in 1972 while living in Masachusetts, the only state he won (plus The District of Columbia) in that election against the soon to resign in disgrace Richard Nixon..

I tell yea....America is truly proud of her. She definitely hit a walk off homerun last nite and tonight. Couldnt've asked for anything more of her. And furthermore to see the party united like that was unreal.

tomorrow is gonna be monumental when Obama makes his acceptance speech. It'll knock Invesco field off of its foundations.

then after we can all head over to the twins cities and rain on their party!:pope:

I agree with Wil that all Americans should feel pride that a minority can ascend to the politicals heights.

Too bad the guy is an empty suit with an oversized ego and a socialist ideology.

Cant be any darker days than we have experienced under the Bush Administration...

America Cant handle another 4 years of the Failed Bush Admin Policies, so why would anyone vote for Mccain who voted to support those policies 95% of the time??

The disgrace was LBJ and his sidekick, Robert Strange McNamara -

Nixon was no more a disgrace than Clinton - both were good Presidents with crooked egos. At least Nixon didn't perjure himself.
