Wow...this might be my worst opening weekend of NFL action ever. I made over 30 dimes in the pre season with my underdog ML system where I just played every game for $1000 per game on the underdog on the ML.

Now I start actually handicapping and putting a LOT more on my few plays, and I gave back almost all of my pre season profits. :drink:

OAKLAND +7.5 (LOST)
TENNESSEE +7 (LOST)
HOUSTON +6 (LOST)

I also played all 3 on the ML.

Anyone else have a rough first weekend?

Yeah, this NFL bullshit is coming back to me real quick. The final steel toed punt to my balls was watching my f'ing Broncos under rot in hell as a f'ing fumble got run back 50(?) yards for a TD with :00 on the clock.

Is it Saturday yet? I've heard that some books will block you from their casino software if you request it, I wonder if that holds true for the NFL. Same thing year after year, win it in college-lose it in the pros.

(It could have been worse too-I had my eyes on a few losers that I didn't bite on).

Miami and Bears were huge for the books. SF will be too, if it holds up.

I was on Houston too...David Carr looked incompetent. how many times did they choke today???

Clip,

I had a tough Week 1 as well. Had under 38.5 in Miami game. The game is going exactly as I thought at the half, with Miami up 6-3. The second half begins and the scoring does not end. It all came down to the last play of the game. With Miami up 27-10 and my under still winning, the Broncos had one final play left. 4th and goal from the Miami 5. Jason Taylor sacks Plummer and forces the fumble. I start to celebrate, but then I realize.....Jason Taylor comes up with the fumble and is running it back as there is 00:00 left on the clock. He ends up going all the way for the TD. Dolphins win 34-10 and my sure shot at the half under goes to hell. What a way to start the season. Better luck to us both next weekend.

I got out safely with Dallas and Rams 2nd half plays, reminding me I have no business betting same amt on football right now as baseball....its a freaking crapshoot this early.

Why let the opening weeks of any sport get you in a big hole? Maybe the squares got some money today, but half of them are broke by week 5.

The only early season week I love is Week 2. The lines reflect bettors reading far too much into one game and there will be opportunities abound.
