the Democrats who control the media and liberals in general are much more obsessed with the Republican nominee than Republicans are

I know that a few credible and electable candidates are going to emerge over the next 12 months, it happens all the time. I mean, we never nominated a McGovern or a Carter (1980) or a Mondale or a Dukakis, candidates that win just a few states, they do.

Each and every year people make ridiculous predictions, each and every year conventional wisdom is proven wrong, but that doesn't stop them from making asses out of themselves, they just keep on trucking baby

history teaches us valuable lessons boys, study it someday.

you're supposed to learn from your experiences y'know

Wishful thinking eh? You better hope what you need to believe happens...if it doesn't the repubs will not win. This current field is just not good enough.

Prob not fair to compare these years with what happens in pres elections over 20 yrs ago. 24 hour cable news has changed all of that.

Of course somebody from repubs will emerge. They eventually have to get down to one.

I am sure back in 2008 Fox News was not "obsessed" with the Democratic nominees

It's funny how they concentrate on the Presidency when polling indicates that Republicans will keep hold of the House and will gain the majority in the Senate. Hell there is even talk of a Republican super majority in the Senate. Meh, who needs the White House?

What Makes the 2012 GOP Field So Weak?

Nine months before the first ballot has been cast in the 2012 presidential nominating process, a casual impression has metastasized into a hard husk of conventional wisdom: The Republican field of 2012 is weak. That's the word that's invariably used: weak, as in presumably not strong enough to produce a candidate who could defeat Barack Obama.

This judgment seems rash -- the field hasn't fill out yet and the first primaries are eight months away -- but it's certainly caught on within the punditry, left, right and center.

Every one of the top candidates comes with a potentially huge flaw," proclaims Chris Matthews. "It's the weakest field any of us have seen in our lifetime," Mark Halperin of Time magazine proclaimed flatly. "The elephant in the room in this Republican field is that it is broad but fairly weak," Daily Beast columnist John Avlon stated on "Good Morning America." ..................................

............There appears to be little historical validity to these claims, which are almost entirely subjective, and anyway it's beside the point: For starters, the Republicans don't need a strong "field," they need a strong nominee. One viable candidate must emerge from the field -- that's all.............................

to be fair, there are some right wing pundits making the same mistake

several examples of how the followers of conventional wisdom are simply proven wrong time, and time and time again

along with a little common sense when discussing the GOP field

Hey SmallDaddy, case in point

Guess you missed an entire year on fox with clinton and obama debates on who is worse. Then came Rev wright, bill ayers, joe the plumber, making everyone scared of the radical black guy.

I find it amazing you only ever see one side of everything. Not a good quality to have.

The people should be concern about the "radcial black people" cause, they disrupt a society that is eager for harmonious relationships that is non reciprocal for them for self serving reasons. I think many minorities like the animosity that currently exists caz, it serves them well, and the sad part part is, that this is not good for the people!

Radical Black people, F them!

Chris Matthews could not beat Sara Palin in a head on debate. No republican candidate is flawless, and I guess the inference is that Obama has no flaws. Are you shitting me. It happens everyday. Right now he is putting salt and pepper on his 1967 remarks to Israel. I think the Dem's are disillusioned if they think Obama can stand on his record.
He did not have one going into office and he still doesn't. If he goes up against Cain there is no race card to pull from the deck and walla we have a new POTUS.
