I have set-up an account and need to know how to fund it.

For large amounts ($5K and up) via wire transfer, the best way is thru OmniPay. It's a three step process, 1) register, 2) link/verify your e-gold account, and 3) enter a security code they mail to your physical address.

After which you can send wire transfers to OmniPay. I believe the minimum is $2k, practically no maximum. The name on the bank account must match the name you register with OmniPay.

For lesser amounts, easiet to use a third-party exchanger. Beware, try to find a reputable one. There is no "certification" process for exchangers, therefore there are less than reputable operations offering e-gold funding.

Wire transfer is still the most common method of funding.

Here are a few exchangers:

D'oh, I forgot to include the URL to OmniPay (though it's obvious), www.omnipay.com

All third-party exchangers must have e-gold in stock to fulfill your order, whereas OmniPay can purchase new gold bars for the e-gold vaults; which is why use them for very large transfers.

I'm surprised it's hard to find exchangers offering NETELLER, Western Union, MoneyBookers, etc. Maybe I'll have to start an exchange service.

The Gold Casino (www.thegoldcasino.com)
BetGold (www.betgold.com)

These are far and aways the best online casinos accepting e-gold that do not require conversion to a fiat currency (that is, you wager in grams of e-gold, not US dollars).

Both offer instant deposits and instant withdrawals.

5Dimes Sportsbook (www.5dimes.com)

The best sportsbook accepting e-gold. Unfortunately your wager account is in dollars, and withdrawals are not instant.

Bet On Markets (www.BetOnMarkets.com)

The best financial wagering site accepting e-gold.

FYI, gambling merchants were recently required to configure their e-gold account to deny spends from U.S. e-gold account holders.

Shhh.... Fortunately this is very easy to work-around. Just change the country on your e-gold account information and use a non-US proxy server when you deposit. You can change the country right back afterwards.

I have been using E-gold for a little over a year and I have tried numerous of the "best" methods....

By FAR the best way to get e-gold is through denver gold exchange.

denvergoldexchange.com

I make the request online, drive to a chase bank, make a deposit into their account, make a copy of the receipt, fax the copy, and I'm funded within minutes.

Cool, thanks for the info.

Paying businesses by making cash deposits into bank accounts is quite common in other countries (or at least it is here).

I wonder what kind of risks it poses though, if I were a business that wanted to accept customer cash deposits into my bank account.
