You are a fighter and you quit. Have your corner throw in the towel and keep some dignity.

My god a pretty decent career thrown in the toliet.:ohno:

Washed up is one thing.

Foreman laid out Michael Moorer getting beat down and could barely see with one punch.

you a fucking fighter and u quit?

Trust me he will be remembered now for quitting. Look at Duran all this time later with No Mas

I will remember him as one of the greatest fighters of his time..

He just took on a outstanding opponent who happened to be in his prime...

His post fight words were as classy as it gets...

Anyone who watched both these two fighters closely the past few years made easy $ tonight...what should of happened, happened..

Delahoya`s struggles against Steve Forbes were the tell tale sign..

Pacquiao actually showed mercy against Oscar..at times backing away for no reason when he could have pummeled Oscar against the ropes, specifically in the corners of the ring..

Margarito would not have been so merciful...

If he would of come out for the next round, they would of carried him out of the ring. He had nothing left and his corner knew it. He took a beating. He never come close to winning a round.

The fight had already been over for 2 rounds at that point. He didn't "quit", he simply acknowledged that he was KTFO.

Margarito forced Cotto to quit and Cotto is still a great fighter. Their was talk about Oscar fighting Antonio instead of Manny. Oscar was smart not to fight the Tornado.

One of the greatest of all time quit and he wasn't even hurt, "Hands of Stone"

He wasnt going to make any more money by letting it go longer so whats the point.ALL it was about was the $ for Oscar,He was expecting to lose this.He will pump up another fight for more $ if people fall for it again.

i don't remember exactly but i am pretty sure this is apples and oranges. was the cotto fight stopped with him on his stool nodding his head that he did not want any more punishment?

Actually I think Cotto was being demolished and was backing away desperately from Tony and knelt down during the round in an attempt to avoid further punishment and then the corner thru in the towel.

What a ridiculous thread. Yeah, lets go out there for another round and LITERALLY put my life in danger just so Timetopay can feel a little better about a losing bet.

Jesus christ, the man went out there and took the beating of a lifetime. Forgive him for knowing that he had nothing left in the tank and didn't feel like risking DEATH in the ring at 35.

Right on. DLH ought to be remembered as an astute businessman and my wife who sometimes is forced to watch these fights says he's good looking for a fighter (not many fighters are). For those reasons he should be remembered. Every big fight he ever ever had he lost unless you consider
fighting Chavez at the end of Chavez's career and the near loss to Ike Quartey big fights. Just a routine champion like many others but a lot richer. He had a following but doesn't rank with the great latino fighters.

I agree with you too...

And i would add Delahoya could be considered good looking not just for a fighter..but as an everyday dude..

And I said that..i am confident enough about my sexuality..my girls dont watch boxing..only mixed martial arts when gina carano`s sweet ass is fighting..Hmmthupthupthupthupthuphmmm

hmmmm. Bet no. Got plenty of other losing bets I can bitch at more. Attack the post dont attack the imaginary I made it up because of a bet.

Lets just go by reality. When was the last big name fighter who didnt come out for a round. Give me one that you can remember. I been watching 20 years and usually guys are pissed the fight is stopped not giving up.

If a fighter is afraid of brain damage, slurring words,or getting knocked out they dont get in the ring at all. you dont quit.Interesting his corner didnt feel he had nothing left to throw in the towel for him.

Oscar Only Lacked One Thing To Be A True Champion

HEART!! He had NONE. Try facing the greatest fighter EVER (including Ali) Ray Robinson, and keep coming back ala Jake LaMotta. Basillio, Graziano, Zale, Pep, all warriors. Notice a common thread there? :think2:
