How much of your bankroll (% wise) or how many consecutive losses would you be willing to incur before you either took a break from sports betting or call it quits? :icon_conf

I have a pretty good size bankroll put aside for gambling and entertainment and I never really let myself go nuts. About ten years back I lost about 20k one year and layed off for a time till I built my roll back up. I don't lose any money that I can't afford to lose. My gambling $$ is always a seperate bank account. Money management is the key.

As long as I am still playing with House money I will keep trying to figure it out. To answer the question I would say that once I go through 25% of my bank with out a win its time for a vacation.

:monsters- It Continues.

I think someone that bets 7-days a week and has been betting for a period of time will have alot of problems taking a break much less quitting. I yhink a person that bets 7-days a week for a living must seek help to take a break or quit. I think someone that is not compulsive could take a break. gambling is a disease like drugs or alcohol. being honest I think if I went real bad I cant say that I would take a break or quit, I"ve been doing it for too long. real good topic.

Probably never. I don't win/lose enough for it to make a difference. And since I've been playing with house money for a while, I probably wouldn't consider unless I went into the red. That may cause me to stop.

i was going to take a break for much of march and get ready for baseball , but i was looking at some lines at one of my books where i had no money and noticed i still had 80 cents.

so i played a 4 team parlay and won.

Just want to know, do you guys get any sort of rush from an eight dollar win??

Would you continue gambling very small (under 5 bucks) until the streak is broken? Does that still count as breaking the streak since it is not the normal amount that you would probably wager?

Thanks,

If you're betting percentages of your bankroll rather than fixed units then you'll never go broke. Maybe you won't get the buzz you require if your bankroll becomes too small but it's definitely the better way.

So if I lost my bankroll i'd quit which is not possible.

80 cents is my normal amount.. just kidding.

i got a rush out of getting a 4 team parlay right. sometimes it isnt about the cash, its about being right..

i remember when i was about 15 and starting picking football games. i had no money or anyway of betting my picks , but just loved to see how many i could get right.
